PSV Einhoven are another one. And the league are not only banning their own history they are slapping it with a restraining order! - pointless rebranding name changes, overt sponsorship, letting clubs move and rename, shafting 'historic clubs' with petulant points deductions, pandering to television schedules, favouritism to currently succesful clubs, the list goes on...

Other cities without a professional football club?
Polaroid Saint replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
Tis a city, the historic capital of the West Riding (Yorkshire) donchaknow! -
I remember a time when it seemed like they were! Bl00dy OS more concerned with concerts than they were the football. Ah, remember the glory days when all we had to moan about was the OS and the catering? It's probably the wrong thing to say, but they could knock it down and build houses. Very popular thing to do to football stadiums these days it seems.

Aye, by some way, unless you count Wakefield... ...yes, it's a city. -

Bath - it's the famous one! -
Ah, an educated guess, I see. Talking of education; what did you get for your Geography O'Level/GCSE? ;)

Stevo, you are a Skeptic not a cynic! Re-badge yourself pronto and you can carry on saying the same things without fear of condemnation!

No evidence that they did, what-so-ever; apart from succesfully completing due-dilligence and convincing the administrator that there were funds in place. Which, when you put it like that, is quite convincing. It's one of Rumsfield's 'unknowable unknowns' now, I reckon.

TL: "We truly believe that with the right backing, we would have made a difference." And that there was the crux of the problem with Pinnacle from Day One. I, with the right backers, would have truly made a difference too Tony! That's what everyone was asking you to disclose, that's what you said you had, that's what you failed to show, that is why some (easily ignored) abuse is coming your way.

Someone's got a little bit confused here me thinks. I don't doubt that the southampton-mad.co.uk people are Southampton through and through. But I can see they are also clearly Mad.

And I was so looking forawrd to tucking into that Humble Pie. Seriously, a glib comment but a serious point. This is the the news we all saw coming, but NONE of us wanted. We been played again chaps. To be honest. I give up. SFC doesn't deserve this, but then it doesn't deserve fans as passionate as you lot either.

I'd be very sceptical about any article that appears in the mail... ...especially one without a by-line. smacks of the dunk-hunter at work... ...nooooo! ?!?! ;-)

or the complete opposite. I dunno... ...At the moment I'm not even a glass half empty person - someone's stolen the bl00dy glass!

I'm in the "DMcG alright actually" camp and sad to see him go. More for what it suggests to me about the clubs current plight really - although if we get taken over tomorrow, we should buy him back, he'd be perfect in league one...

If either party complete this week I shall be very pleased. Surprised, but pleased. If it comes down to an arm wrestle, scissors paper stone or a match of naked-star-wars-tennis-on-ice I simply do not care, I just want our club to survive.

I do like a slice of Humble Pie - it's the sceptic's (just) dessert. I have my plate and fork ready, but I'll wait until I've digested the main before I tuck in, if that's ok? ;-) Also, as a (admittedly, lapsed) Jew, I do not find the term 'dustbin lid' offensive. Ever so slightly derogatory yes, but not offensive. Problem is, all the really nasty words start out as mild insults and build with venom over time and usage; however I think it is best to be retrospective and as informed as possible as to what is and isn't an aggressive, offensive insult. Shalom.

Live shoots of of the board members, tyre kickers, fantasists and 'agents' who have screwed this club over performing their own special spandau ballet?

I think getting yourself labeled a gay and a mental is a more fitting tribute to the man than your poem, young lad; you should be proud. -

Just a little comedy sketch I've been working on; man walks into club. man says I garentee you'll get paid. how so say the players? watch me says the man. a couple of days pass (I'll have a little caption come up) player gets shiny new contract at other club. PS - I am very drunk.

It'd be a mental chant too. Bizarre: 1885! 1885! 1885! 1885! 1885! 1885! 1885! 1885! 1885! 1885! 1885! 1885! 1885! 1885! 1885! over and over again...
