  1. Okay then, as you asked for it; Delusional sense of own righteousness, wilful ignorance of wider society, arrogant repetition of beliefs without consideration of those of others, fearful of a society governed by shared mores rather than an individuals desires, and, to top it all, heavily pro-gun ownership. Mostly though its the fear; the obvious and sickly fear you have of a world that doesn't share your opinions in general and those of your 'personal safety' in particular - the unease drips from almost every word you type. Although it may be harmless internet chatter you still manage to come across as a likely danger to yourself, though thankfully not to others. Ultimately, despite your posturing, you seem irrevocably, tragically, pathetic. On this thread alone, you drowned in your own spittle a long time ago, metaphorically shot in the head by your own general of poor arguments and biased research; yet still you wish to claim some pyrrhic 'victory'. You won, the enclave is burnt down, the siege is over, the children are dead - but hey, guns are still legal and you can whoop and dance in your own flame behind your keyboard for as long into the dark night as you like. 2. Plenty of studies done on this. Mostly US based and it depends on where you live (cost of living). Using 'happiness' as the goal of day to day existence (measured by such things quality of life, free time, health, spiritual life, feelings of loneliness, expectations about aging, etc.) around $50-75k is the optimum yearly income. All the studies suggest anymore than that has no bearing on happiness. So, yeah, around £37,500 to £40,000 is the optimum salary in the UK. We all have an HQ too, like an IQ, a happiness quotient that tends to remain fixed (or return to mean) regardless of situation. People with a higher HQ tend to be more content whatever their circumstance and people with low HQ tend to be frustrated regardless. Social pressures can warp this of course (we live in a society where 'greed is good' and 'ambition' is seen as simply as desire for more wealth, rather than personal fulfillment) but essentially it is a pathological constant in all of us. In addition HQ and IQ have been suggested to be linked, but this is early (ie limited) research. Intriguingly where high IQ and low HQ combine you tend find sociopathic behaviours, for example in city traders. In this particular instance I would guess Adam, like many professional footballers, has not only a lower than average IQ, but also a lower than average HQ too. Or maybe he was sad because of what his wife allegedly did? Who can say!? Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
  3. Sarnia has 'won' in the same way David Koresh 'won' the Waco siege. Sadly, the similarities don't end there. Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
  4. I thought it was 60m Euros? Either way it seems a lot for a young player but here's hoping he gels quickly. Welcome to Saints 'Nelli! Do we have a song for him yet.? Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
  5. Tanks gents. I did see dear old wiki had the Inter link, but it also claimed that the lad apperently hadn't played a single game in the last three years. So I came on here to ask you lot. I could have searched a bit more, but who does that nowadays, eh? (Anyone know what time MnS opens and can you recommend a plummer/taxi/school for my child.) Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
  6. Any legs? I mean both the rumour and the player; as I have never heard of the lad (shame on me etc). Did a quick search for him on here to no results (maybe my search is wonky). Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
  7. I pretty much agree with all of this apart from the bit about the supposed bastardisation of the English language by America. Most of the perceived changes to the spelling, use and pronunciation of words that have happened in the (very roughly) 200 years since the languages 'split' in the official dictionaries of the two countries, have occurred on both sides of the pond. For example the Brits used to use Z not S in words like bastardised, the Brits changed, America did not. Dropping the U in Colour makes perfect sense really (unless you prefer medieval French to modern International English - and no problem if you do, but still!). Same goes for words like Miter/Mitre... ...which have changed numerous times over the last few hundred years. Neither is better in my opinion but the fact they can mean different things is a useful reason to keep both (eg in this instance a unit of length or indication of timing). I guess, coming from a scientific background, I prefer the uniformity and simplicity of modern shorter variants (do we really need the extra UE on words like analogUE?). However as a lover of music, poetry and fine writing I appreciate the variation and complexity of a language derived from Latin, Greek, Germanic, Slavic and Celtic (amongst many others and borrowed words). The vast history, and associated etymology, is important to English's beautiful lexicon. Of course the above are primarily PIE (proto-indo-european) languages anyway, so are related at their core. Language flows and grows and contracts, it absorbs and morphs. It is there to express ideas, both base and novel. Its ability to change is part of its power. We must never stop that from happening by being over precious regarding perceived laws and doctrines as to it's structure. Words have power and that power rests in the ideas they define not in the order of the letters, or the grammar that instructs usage. Words are the greatest weapon in the fight against ignorance and fear. Not guns. (See, brought it right back on topic at the end there.) Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
  8. Interesting Poll (please note this is satire at its most brutally brilliant). http://waterfordwhispersnews.com/2015/06/19/poll-what-is-your-favourite-american-shooting-so-far-this-year/ Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
  9. The templates suggested the crest would sit astride the stripes. Thankfully it does not and sits neatly within a stripe. For OCD Saints this is a good thing.
  10. high press's all round. good work Saints lovely stuff.
  11. Love the way this thread has descended into deep etymological discourse. Classic SaintsWeb. Cambridge versus Oxford with goals from Collins, Webster and Johnson?
  12. Facking Ell. Eight? I was at the dentists today. First game I gave missed in months (either in person or online) I shall be spending every home game getting 'work done' from now on, then.
  13. I love this, superb work saintmatt. (Sorry if its already 'a thing', new to me and made me lols)
  14. I very much enjoyed and hated that. Hate watching on TV. Felt Swansea were bound to spoon an equaliser. Very happy now. Off to a wedding reception thing now, so will have the Saints are 2nd from top conversation with as many strangers as O can. Bonza.
  15. SUMMARY: EFFORT 1: Spent nearly the entire game (QPR v Stoke) trying various different installs and work arounds, all sorts of clever bits of streaming P2P software. Got one decent HD stream from NBCSports on HIVE. My Russian has been put to the test and I have visited plenty of forums to find potentially useful info but a lot of guff has been sorted through too. None of this was "out-puttable" to my HDTV Screen without a cable. Total Time Spent: 90Minutes. Assurances I can get a Sainst stream - None at this stage with twenty minutes to kick off. EFFORT 2: logged onto SportsNationHD with a really old user account, (requested PW reset), paid £3 ish for a week subs via paypal, was watching an HD stream via Chromecast on my HDTV in no time at all. Total time spent: 3 minutes. Saints Stream? Yes, next match on list. So, err, yeah, there you go.
  16. Cheers ART! I know I am coming across like a right moany git, thanks for your patience! HIVE itself is working fine and I can watch full screen on the laptop, however I would like to watch on my TV (my laptop is a 13.3" screen). Hence wanting to push the stream to VLC so I can 'cast' it. I'll try and clarify where I am coming from; I cannot easily find the channel I want to watch ( I am using the Xunity list to find channel details and then scrolling to find the right one, for example for the QPR match I have this advice: 12:45 QPR vs Stoke City - beIN1, beIN11, BT Sport 1, SportsNet Ontario, SportsNet World, NBC Sports So I can scroll down the list in HIVE and find NBC Sports HD - works fine and I can go full screen. I guess I could find a cable to attach to my TV, which is no great shakes I guess, but I would prefer to mirror or cast. Also, so far, none of these streams are full HD. I will give SimpleTV another shot at installing (I'll mainly extract from the exe and try again), but SportsNationHD is looking the best bet at the moment... ...running out of time before kickoff! thanks again!
  17. Right. I have spent the entire first half of QPR v STOKE trying to get the HIVE /live.to / VLC combo to work decently. IT IS SH!TE. Sorry Guys, but I AM CLEARLY MISSING SOMETHING HERE. What it is it? Cannot find an HD stream of the game (practicing with qprvstoke) at all, searching forums and a copying URLs and stuff? What the? Help? EDIT: okay, I cant get a decent version of NBC Sports in HD, but only on the HIVE player... ...not showing on VLC, so I cant push it out full screen to my TV. Just watching on a laptop. Hmmm. EDIT2: the iLive.to VLC player is nice bit of kit and is properly installed, but the URL will not play in VLC, looks fine in the Broswer and I can then stream. Still no better quality though and a lot of faffing. - I AM TRYING to make this work, I want it to, but so far, its all a bit of a bind. WIll try iGuide to VLC next... EDIT3...nah, naff. This is like going back in time to using Sopcast! Lets try SimpleTV. EDIT4... ...SimpleTV is anything but! Not sure why the extraction program used (given that the download is a self-extracable) is at fault for not finding the executable ? but hey. I am clearly not getting the whole point of this mucking about anyway, and I deal with enough programming debugging in my work life so cant be arsed to 'play' at it. Anyway. Next bet is to see what SportsNation is offering on this test game.
  18. Okay, first time I am streaming a match this season (!) and I am going to give one of these (IMHO, slightly old-school and long winded) installs a go. Have a bit of time and a decent machine to try it out on. As I say, I am not convinced its worth the hassle unless its a proper HD stream. I hope it is and I thank Art et al for the links etc. I will let you all know how I get on; i.e ease and quality. UTS.
  19. Tis but four games in, I expect a tough match away today to opposition we normally fair well against. Swans v Saints has to be the main match up in the EPL today. Currently 3rd and 4th I would put money on them being next to each other in the league come May. Maybe 8th and 7th? I am sure both sets of fans would be very happy with that if it comes to pass. If Saints win well today I will revise my opinion of our start, but I expect an entertaining-ish start to the match but, ultimately, a cagey win for the welsh club, with Saints winning at home later in the season.
  20. I put that on most of my party invites, to be fair.
  21. Well, that's got to be the result everyone 'expected' really, was a little touch and go for a bit there when the registrations to vote went through the roof (fears of an obama2008 style event) But all good and the youth vote was, it appears, a strong No too. Give the Scots slightly increased powers on levying taxes, and leave it there (seriously, Cameron at al may have promised a quick timetable on this, but it will be watered down by the time it becomes legislation in late 2015; and that depends on the next government too) Iwill predict a fairly comfortable labour win at this stage and a stronger tie between all home nations. The only thing that will be an issue, for me, will be to stop the right wing clamouring for 'English Votes For English Issues'. No one wants an English executive. What we want (need) is a British constitution and proportional representation to fully replace the FPTP system.
  22. Nice. We did a Grand Tour of Britain back in 2008 and the Scottish part was ace. Very similar route to you but we didn't get to the islands, unless Skye counts! Would also recommend it above almost any other road trip choice! Got to see ICT and St.Miran play out an almost comically stereotypical dull and awful 0-0 draw in the ****ing rain. Perfect really.
  23. Chromecast works perfectly with your Mac setup, or any PC running Chrome Browser. (But not on iOS or Android, or WinPhone. All the post-firstrow (free) sites also work brilliantly from a super cheap Chromebook via Chromecast. (and unlike other options on here with installs and disabling pop-ups etc, it runs BETTER with ad-blocker turned on). If you can pay for an HD web stream and like/trust it on your chrome browser, then it will stream to a Chromecast (£30 solution) and therefore any TV or screen you have. As a bonus, the Chromecast upscales a lesser steam (say 640x480) to HD really well. Not sure I entirely get the point of paying huge fees plus all these .net framework local installs and location proxies and emails registered in Turkmenistan and stuff?! I s'pose if you get a solid HD stream easily every time it is worth it, but do you? Seems a lot of setup and potential heartache/money loss when a half minute's faffing before a match will get you near HD for free!
  24. lovely+unweird . I would buy your cookbook. Mrs Polaroid does the Mayo and Chip thing and I tolerate it. Although if she leaves any for me, I do of course wipe them down first on the sofa, curtains, face. The usual.
