There is already a salary cap in League Two, hence the reason why Morecombe were not allowed to buy anyone recently, they overspent.

I might be there this week, Mike, I'll get onto a contact for bibs, awesome service and has helped me out with kits etc before, will pass on details. Edit. Can't get them as cheap as you, go ahead with your lot. -
It's what happened to Boston United, they went into the Conference North and then ended up going down again. Conference South is not the end of the world, we could get out of it, but it would depend on who takes over from then, be it a fans group or whatever. Plus, I didn't know the awful situation that Darlo are in, a chairman who is sitting on the club letting them rot....they are in a worse situation than us!
-
Basingstoke would be lovely.
-
Not too sure Stu, I would assume it's been looked at. Although, Oxford away if we were in BSP would be a nasty one!
-
That's what I thought, but the Blue Square chairman has said that he's been contacted about taking a Southampton team of some sort.
-
I would be there, as I said in another thread, if we get kicked out of the league then we can be in the Blue Square if we sort out a ground etc.
-
Agree with you mate, I'm sure within the next ten years there will be another team coming up from the lower leagues who will get in the Premiership, then again, Rochdale have been in League Two since the 70's!
-
I'm not suprised though at all. I have a book at home with how the leagues have ended up since they started. Clubs like Wigan and Hull in the lower leagues, Derby, Sheff United and Wolves dropping down the leagues in the 70's and 80's.
-
Put the away end between the both of us!
-
But 50 years ago alot of people went to watch both clubs. I expect after how many years then the rivalry would kinda die out.

Have a look half way down the page. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/gossip_and_transfers/8019010.stm

It was in the Non League Paper about two weeks ago, I think the Guardian picked up on it and it was on the BBC news paper gossip page too. He was talking about this coming season too, he didn't say who had spoken to him either, I assume someone from the F.A.

Am I right in thinking we can raise capacity to 40k?
-
Well the Conference has been sounded out about taking us in if, for whatever reason we're not in the football league next season, the Blue Square chairman even stated he would be 'delighted to take in a team the size of Southampton'. But this would all be down to a new club being formed and playing at St Mary's I assume. I will still support the club, whatever league we are in, I couldn't give a damn what anyone says, I saw a post saying being in the 'Blue Square would end it for me' why? The Blue Square is not a pub team league, you have decent sized clubs like Wrexham and Oxford in there, also, we could start again and move up the leagues, think, it was only six years ago that Doncaster were playing in the Conference, they are now in the league above us!
-
It's all hush hush at the moment, but I'm a little nervous about the length of time it's taking, then again, many other clubs have been taken over in the 11th hour and knowing us, I expect it to happen down here too! Then again, if all fails least we'll be in the Conference.
-
There was a mention on the Englandfans forum about Southampton going bust, purely on that fact there isn't the interest....I said they were talking rubbish.....but I'm having second thoughts now.....
-
Not really, that's the prices you pay at airports over there, the national average is £6.48.
-
Torquay, one league behind us now!
-
Will what happened to us happen to that lot down the road?

I was speaking to some Pompey fans about us not so long ago, they were banging on how we gave them so much grief when they were in the same position, I can't remember doing so? If they go under, so be it, to be honest I won't comment on it, which will annoy them even more! -
Blue Square chairman has said he's already been contacted, which I find a little strange. He stated that he would be delighted if were in the Conference (I don't think we as fans would be!). I was talking to someone today though, how come Stockport only got points this season? They were already safe and then got 10 knocked off. Then again, they owe IR alot of money so expect them to get -17.
-
I'm not too sure, Chester some would say but they are on the verge of admin themselves. I would assume Northampton would not be relegated to League Two, and they put another team up from the Blue Square.

Try drinking in Norway then, in the past I have paid £8 for a pint!
