Was saying all summer that this was the case and from what I understand the issue was budget. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We f*cked up by putting all our eggs in one basket thinking we’d get someone else and settled with mp. Those chickens are coming home to roost now I think Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I warned people from the start this takeover wasn’t a good thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pellegrino's done. I'm sorry but anyone can see that now, and i'm normally one that wants a manager to be given time. It's painfully obvious to see which direction we're heading in and what worries me is it seems to be getting worse each week. The display today was appalling, and for him to say in the post match interview that we'd done well is just insane. It wasn't a couple of mistakes that let them carve through our midfield like it wasn't there. It wasn't the rub of the green that meant we didn't have a shot on target for most of the game. It wasn't a bad day that meant we started with a striker that hasn't scored in almost 12 months. It wasn't forced upon us to play the woefully out of form Dusan Tadic. All those above are the managers fault, tactics, team selection and substitutions. We played a team who everyone knows you attack because they're defence is shocking and instead played a deep line with a gap the size of the grand canyon between midfield and defence and a loan striker who couldn't score at a swingers party. Add to that the fixtures in the next month or so and if we're not around the bottom three i'd be stunned. God knows what happens when we play City at theirs? I'm genuinely worried they might actually break a record against us.

I would say that position HAS softened since the summer, in the summer it was an outright "never going to happen", now it's more of a they're still really p*ssed at them. So never say never i guess.

Not heard a peep on that to be honest

I'd be hugely, hugely surprised if VVD goes to Liverpool in January or even at all. From what i understand the club are still fuming at them for how they acted in the summer.

These are pretty cool, saw them on twitter and figured a few here might like them, saints bobble hats based on our old kits. https://www.footballbobbles.com/product/moran_bobble_hat/ https://www.footballbobbles.com/product/armstrong-bobble-hat/

No way Levy will meet what want for VVD, if he did though i think it'd be a good move for all parties.

Saw that, bet you the take up is slow, if we're playing the way we are now, and potentially just above the relegation place by then, i wouldn't be surprised if the take up isn't what we'd expect. That's actually a hell of a lot better than i expected, really impressive considering the distance and the fact we're going to get absolutely stuffed.

Totally agree, been saying it all season we miss an upgrade on Steven Davis, not a new striker (Gabbi is good enough) not new "pacy" wingers who run themselves into trouble and cross to no one, not "a mane" (Boufal would do that played in the right position), but a direct midfielder that drives the side, pops up on the edge of the box with a shot or two at the right time and can pick the runs of our attack. That said those types of players are going to set you back the best part of £50m in Jan' so we won't be signing one.

Pretty sure Jose didn't have superstar players or money to buy them at Porto when he won the Champions league to be fair

Trust me I was there, it was terrible for a lot of the game. I have no idea what happened when we got back to the premier but our away support now seems to include a lot more people standing in silence, a lot more middle class couples and children, and just less passion and aggression. Maybe I’m old and chasing something that no longer exists, but the whole thing is less enjoyable now. I’d rather be in the pub with my mates than be in the ground with a bunch of day trippers. Wish this had a like button right now. We’ve attracted a proper geeky support in recent years. I guess that’s being in the top flight, but f*ck me does the dungeons and dragons types annoy me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

To be fair if you’re talking embarrassing why not talk about our away support today? Utterly f*cking silent for most of the game, as it has been for many away games recently. Does my head in so many people that travel but stand in silence. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Jesus we have some right nigels and nerds in our support don't we? A dictionary definition?? Wind your neck in mush. A Derby is a game with needle, it's a rivalry, it's the first fixture you look for when they come out, it's against a team or place you generally hate, it's both sets of fans upping their game and aggression from the stands. The dictionary definition has little to nothing to do with what football fans think it is, it's just a convenient excuse for the new generation of stattos and nerds who've invaded the game to be pedants.

The media will call this and bournemouth a "derby" because it sells papers and gets people to tune in. Some fans of other clubs will call them derbies because that's what the media call it. Most match going fans will know that we only have one derby. A small section of bournemouth fans will get annoyed because we don't care about them. Brighton fans will be as annoyed as us because they hate Palace, and also hate the Skates. I would say though that Brighton will have more needle to it than many games, not because it's a derby but because their fans are d*cks a lot of the time, and i'd say there's certainly more dislike towards them from people i know than there is to Bournemouth (who most people like). The thing is we're still the top scalp on the south coast, so all the smaller south coast clubs, Skates, Brighton, Bournemouth, Reading, Swindon etc. will always dislike us, and the only one we reciprocate is the Skates.

Poch is one of the best managers in the game, i'm amazed people can't actually see that, it's proper red and white blinkers if you think otherwise. Like SKD said he's improved Spurs immensely and put them in a position where they "might" win the league at some point if he stays. Something which a club the size of Spurs couldn't really dream of (yeah the 60s and all that i know, but they're not a big club compared to Liverpool or United, and not a money club like Chelsea or City, and arguably smaller than Arsenal). I actually think he might go to Barcelona not Real, if you look at what he does he fits their philosophy perfectly. He loves using the academy over big signings, he loves passing football and he knows the city well. I think anyone that watched him manage us knew how good he was, he transformed the side in less than six months and laid the ground work for Koeman, who i don't think would've had anywhere near the same success had Poch not come before.

So both Bournemouth and City away go on sale on the same day? Going to be an expensive day that one.
-
Generally speaking there's a limited service on the tubes on boxing day, some lines tend to be closed for engineering work and the overground is normally shut, but that won't be confirmed for a little while yet. The buses will run pretty much as a sunday service, and there's normally a national express coach service running to Victoria.

Incredible few days. Not sure I’ll ever forget the feeling of walking up to the san Siro to see saints play. Utterly surreal, especially as it was the iconic ground growing up, more even than the nou camp. What I loved the most was the fact that there were so many generations of saints out there, over 8k of us and in many cases two or three generations of families. The result wasn’t right but it summed up what football was about for me, absolute pride in my home city (and we did it proud too). Ended up drinking with Jason Dodd too as one of my mates used to work for the club and knows him well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Think there's a number of reasons why it's happened, like someone said we've been stung a few times in the past on taking allocations and not selling them out, also didn't we have an issue at Wigan away where about half our support bought kids tickets and got in as kids? Also a few grounds have reduced our allocation for "persistent standing", although the cynic in me say the occasions that's happened it's because they've known they could sell the tickets as home tickets at a higher price. To be honest though i think the club have it about right, if you look at Stoke we didn't sell out and i'm fairly sure if we'd taken the full allocation for Liverpool we wouldn't sell that out either. Also to add, people complaining they can't get up the ladder it's not actually that difficult. Games like Stoke, Burnley, West Brom, City (midweek) are all likely to make general sale, and add a couple of cup games and you're basically on the ladder for the high profile games next season. From my reckoning we have a tiny percentage with 8+ (probably significantly over actually), then a few more with 5+ and then it becomes very congested at the 3+ mark. So doing 4-5 aways should more or less guarantee you a ticket to most games if you're organised.
