I thought we already had an interest in VVD when Toby was here and the intention was to sign both of them? Certainly that's what i've been told by many people associated to the club. Shame it never came off really because can you image how good our defence would've been if it had!

Just been a few stories in the local press in London about interest in them after their stadium is built and mates of mine that are Spurs fans seem to think it's likely to happen too.

Funny isn't it, it doesn't actually matter how many times people post these things many people just refuse to accept the facts. Personally i think it's more likely than not VVD is going. That said it's how he goes and who he goes to that's the question, in particular how the club react to Liverpool because they don't want to sell to Liverpool and as things stand don't feel they have to sell to Liverpool.

I'd assume the majority are in the same kind of position i am where you get bits and bobs from various people. Often it's nothing concrete as they don't want stuff tracing back to them, or when it is they outright ask you not to mention it.

Absolutely made up with only being on TV once in two months, means it's mostly 3pms and all saturdays, makes aways days easier (pre booked Huddersfield already) and i don't get the grief i got last season from the missus/work because i came home sh*tfaced on a sunday and was hungover on the monday.

Tend to agree with that, i can't say i've seen anything particularly special that marks him out other than energy. He certainly seemed to be out of position a lot when he's played (hence the last ditch challenges people on here seem to love, rather than stopping the ball before he has to make them) and although neat and tidy in possession nothing he did really stood out like others at his age. Personally i put him in the Matty Targett, Sam Gallagher bucket rather than the McQueen, Stephen's bucket. He could come good in the future but he's a long way off that now and the Championship is probably the peak of his ability as things stand.

This thread makes me realise how young a lot of the people who post on here are (with a few exceptions of course). Reuben Agboola was definitely a cult player around the time i started going, as well as a bit later Sergey Gotsmanov. But that he was mainly "cult" for being sh*t as he got nicked named Getimoff (started by On The March i think)

Don't forget his own house he was having built and his love of a lawyer for slightest affront (and some that weren't an affront at all, and would've just wasted the clubs money and time had he pursued them)... To be fair i do remember you bringing them up at the time, the problem here is that people are almost religious in their belief the club can do no wrong and even in the face of evidence refuse to accept the truth.

Except sadly that's not true, the summer of Poch and the rest we HAD to sell because of the state that the mad midget had left our finances, in fact that hangover has been ongoing right up to this season and the club have even alluded to it in interviews. I'm regularly stunned by how few people actually get the damage he did, the facts are right in front of most people's eyes, from loans taken out; player sales; club finance reports and the rest, he was successful to get us to where we were but did it on mountains of debt and we had to clear that as the Leibherrs wouldn't live with it. This summer we're finally in a position where comments like that have a bit more credence, but the truth is if the money's right, or the player is unsettled, then we will still sell.

I think some people would be genuinely surprised by the appetite there is for this, i personally reckon you could kill two birds with one stone here. Make the entire Northam safe standing and move the away fans to the Itchen corner (given the substantial building work i don't see why you shouldn't do both at once). And even with that number i think it'd be the first place sold out every single game.

No idea!! If it was my choice i'd go with Tuchel but it sounds like that's dead in the water, i'm sure there are others too but that's the ones i heard of for certain. We were pretty quick to dismiss Silva as a choice which makes me think we didn't see in him what we wanted. There's been lots of chatter about a manager that can keep players who want away as they'd want to play for him. But that could just be chatter.

Yeah we definitely had conversations with Tuchel and at one point they were fairly advanced, no idea why i didn't happen but it definitely was ongoing, we did also interview and turn down Silva (about two weeks before the end of the season) and the "dark horse" candidate on the list is Weinzierl (which others can verify i mentioned at least a week ago if not more).
