  1. Bloke at US conference said releasing later today but given the time difference may not be out yet. (or apple have banned it in a huff!).
  2. See google have just announced chrome for iphone from today with ipad version coming soon. Will be interesting to see what happens in terms of number of users for chome and safari on these.
  3. A better picture would be coffee stains on an F5 key
  4. I thought they had signed a short term sponsorship deal with these people:
  5. You need to use something like bit.ly
  6. It has been suggested that the fact this has come out now may well be related to the fact that Gerhard Gribkowsky has just been jailed in Germany for taking £44 million in bribes from Bernie E and Bernie is looking at a way of deflecting attention. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/financial-crime/9360292/German-banker-Gerhard-Gribkowsky-who-took-bribes-over-F1-sale-jailed.html
  7. It's A $64,000 question along with yesterdays "What do the players get from whom on liquidation" conundrum.
  8. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/birch-opens-football-league-talks-1-3995333 Hopefully the league will tell them to use their youth team.
  9. Portpin Loans I will get my money
  10. As said before the debt registered with the administrators is only relevant on liquidation as the players contracts are not affected by going in and out of administration. This does not really help us with the question of will the players get paid in full. Its possible that: a) All the players will get is what they can get via the 23 million claim on liquidation (which is likely to be nothing) or b) The PFA will cover their wages lost and put in the claim of debt on the outside chance that they could get some of the money back.
  11. Going to be a film soon as well. Love the 'partridged' announcement: http://www.ultraculture.co.uk/12077-press-release-of-the-week-alan-partridge.htm

Terror of the Zygon's from the Tom Baker era was partially shot in the village I grew up in. Some of it was shot in a barn my dad was in charge of so got to go in and see things like the stunt zygon falling from a pile of bales (onto cardboard boxes not spikes as per the episode). The one thing from my childhood I am annoyed at having lost over time is the my Zygon sucker print 'autograph'!
  13. But they currently don't have a CVA. They have a group of creditors who have been agreed to the terms of a CVA but until Chinny pony's up the money they don't have CVA in place.
  14. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/trust-in-final-push-to-help-pompey-takeover-1-3992009 Given, as far as I am aware, there has never been a previous example of trying to take over a club in this way the term 'unprecedented' could be used even if only 1 person pledged. Obviously as they are still pleading for people to pledge it was not unprecedented enough!
  15. They appear to be keen to try and imply CVA2 is all done and dusted don't they?
  16. It all comes down to what happens with the players contracts on liquidation. Is it: A) They have to join all the other creditors who will get nothing or next to nothing from liquidation. They become free agents and must find new clubs to pay them. or: B) The league and/or the PFA pay them the remainder due on their contracts. If A they would be better settling before liquidation if B they are best of waiting for the pop. Don't think we are still completely clear which it is, but the fact no one has settled implies possibly B.
  17. will probably become "I have always been aware that a large points penalty was almost certain"
  18. Thing is after this Nat West will probably be the best place to have your account because you can bet they will be trying very hard to make sure it does not happen again. Other banks are probably urgently reviewing their systems but will probably not put as much into avoiding it happening to them than RBS will in avoiding it happening to them again.

  20. Fairly desperately trying avoid any indication that it was due to the outsourcing of the support to India that it is currently rumoured to be at least partially responsible. When asked about this said something like "The jobs are run on the UK" and "The backbone of our IT department is in Edinburgh" but completely avoided the question of the outsourced support.
  21. This also confuses me. Surely the golden share is always at the discretion of the league and nothing written into the CVA should be able to change that? Why did that need to be an amendment at all?
  22. I especially like the way he goes into the details of a couple of reasons they might get a penalty, just in case the league have forgotten. As to why he is doing it my guess is that he is keen to avoid any blame.. "out of my hands guv.."
  23. Article mentions a penalty is at the leagues discretion 4 times. Appears to be rather keen that is made clear.
  24. If, and its a big if, they can get rid of players so that CVA2 can proceed my guess is that the league will give them a penalty relating to CVA1, possibly making up rules as it goes along again (with the don't sue or the golden share gets it threat behind it) but that it will be something like 10 points that, given the squad they are likely to have will probably have no effect come the end of the season.
  25. I believe so as its theoretically possible (though highly unlikely) that the money made on selling assets on liquidation could exceed Chinny's charge and would then provide some money for other creditors so I don't think you can just hand over bits to the largest creditor. -- Though I suppose he could just offer up to his charge to buy the assets on liquidation?
