Translations: Only one party was not a complete tyre kicker and we are still a way from agreeing terms. I am certain to be able to come up with some "news" in that time. Probably repeating the same quote. I am announcing this even though we haven't even checked their credentials yet. I am announcing this even though we don't fully know who they are and if they actually have any money. It's looking so dodgy there appears to be little point in them trying to pass the league FAPPT yet. The cheque has not bounced yet. Don't know why I go on about right hands as I just sell the club to whoever My Chinny tells me to. There is one new front person who has been conned into fronting the bid. The other has already been linked to the club before but I can't say that can I! I am confident we will get to the point where we have to pay the wages but not sure when we get there we can actually pay. We are keeping the league in the dark about some of this and hope their fear of embarrassment will allow us to avoid the penalty we should really get.

Or rather out of all the CSI companies. If he wanted to make the 10.8M back asap he would be better off selling the WRC rights off. ... talking of which... http://wrc.com/news/new-tv-deal-gives-uk-wrc-fans-more-coverage-than-ever-before/?fid=14027

and how long will it take to find a link between this new 'prominent' backer and at least one of the previous owners? My guess is about 3 minutes.

indeed, being "Fairly Satisfied" with the proof of funds is not really a ringing endorsement is it.
-
Surely he should know if its one or two?

I believe pompey have been getting money (one assumes a high interest loan) from Chinny which is the 'short term' money referred to by AA. While they have someone willing to lend them money so they can pay wages etc then I don't believe they are insolvent.
-
I understand the name of their reclusive chinese backer is a Mr Ho Lu Gyam

Does putting a charge on a company mean they have to pay immediately? If not why would Chinny go for that option? Surely it would have been better to say to CSI "I would like my money soon so if you could sell off the WRC rights and pay up then that would be nice"? My guess is that he saw the lot being nabbed by the L countries and wanted to get as much as he could before they got their hands on the remains? Who knows?

Be careful when you open the package. Mine came in a grey plastic bag. Inside this was a padded envelope and a preprinted return grey plastic bag. Not knowing the return bag looked just like the bag it came in I managed to rip that open as well and had to mend it with duct tape before I could send it back.

Just an update on this. Waiting for mine to come back but reports are that they got 3 times as many returned as they had expected and are having to send out new (gen 6) ipod nano's as replacements as they have run out of version 1's. So if you still have a version 1 nano lying around it might be worth checking the link to see if you can get it replaced with possibly a brand new one.

The summary of the article on a pompey board is: If I were a sceptical person I would think this was some made up chaff to keep the walk up punters coming for a few more weeks (and to possibly reduce dissension in the ranks of the players if they don't get paid).

Interesting article not seen linked on here: http://www.aboutmyarea.co.uk/Hampshire/Portsmouth/PO6/Portsmouth-Bloggers/Tony-Goodall-Portsmouth-and-Pompey/213097-No-Shortage-of-Own-Goals-Off-The-Pitch-At-Fratton-Park

Its interesting to look at the pompey pages on the news as they are obviously in an "elephant in the room" situation where they appear to have articles about everything else except the fact that they are desperate for some "investment" or things will look very bleak.

Easy choice at 9. BBC1: Eastenders, plague avoidance activated ITV: Downturn Abbey: Ditto but on: BBC2: Spirograph,Meccano etc in another permutation of how to tie old footage of toys and interviews into a cheap christmas program. Winner!

There are a lot of people in the country that do not agree with fox hunting. My father, a farmer for 50 years, for example. Many of the people around the village that my parents knew were also opposed to fox hunting. Just because people in the countryside don't go out and attempt to sabotage hunts does not mean they are all in favour of fox hunting. Do not assume all those in favour of fox hunting are from the countryside and all those against are from towns.

and now we are in the santa twilight zone where parents wait impatiently for children to fall asleep...

What's that got to do with Christmas?
