  1. So looking at Ralphs salary and the 21 points haul so far this year, it comes in at something like £215k per point. Pretty expensive!
  2. Why? Serious question, not a poke...
  3. I'm not sure it is. I was looking at the teams in the league trying to identify 3 obviously worse teams and I really couldn't. We'll see what pans out and hope I'm wrong. We will surely be fighting relegation if you follow the form book. I was really hoping we'd improve our defence and GK for this season and looking at it man for man, we haven't. I hope we can turn our brittle mentality round - when one goal goes in we lose all fight and before you know it, one becomes three etc. We could do with a Jimmy Case, Razor Ruddock or Terry Hurlock in the side!
  4. It absolutely does. Last season, we could be 3 up and still be worrying if we would get the 3 points. That isn't changing this season for sure.
  5. We have the same type of fans everybody else. Pretty sure fans of every other team would be as underwhelmed as we are. Last season was dreadful defensively. We have now sold a CB for £15mil and replaced him with a guy from Torino for probably half that. And the Torino fans seem to be thanking us for taking him. Sorry, but this is a massive risk given the situation we are already in - defensively fragile, leaking goals for fun. So forgive us if we're not overjoyed! As you say, all we can now do is support him and hope he does well. Massive risk to take IMO.
  6. How ironic that this description also seems to apply to the person you are quoting.
  7. Agreed. He should have been sacked last season. 13 out of 14 losses on the road this year. He is tactically naive to put it nicely. I was laughing before the season started reading some of the optimistic comments on here from some of the happy clappers. Not sure there is any reason for optimism - Ralph has certainly not changed or improved or learnt any lessons from the dreadful performances he served us up last year.
  8. And Bednarek v Phillips (both looking v right sided)
  9. Thought it would be interesting to post some stats from a fantasy footie site. I know none of this is gospel and there is a difference being a defender in a Liverpool side vs a Saints one, but might be of interest to some
  10. 4 I think in total. I will always remember him for that backpass that lost us the game at Cardiff though
  11. Nothing better than a bit of humility when posting on other fan's forums is there 🤣
  12. really surprised you haven't corrected his spelling of the christian name yet. You're slipping
  13. Exactly why the term "virtue signalling" exists - it is all mouth and no trousers. Action is required. No, I certainly wouldn't confront a large group of "mongs" as you put it. (Which immediately shows how superior you feel to these people). I very definitely would report it and expect it dealt with though. I generally find people's behaviour can be offensive, but the people themselves are able to change that behaviour. They definitely won't change it if you keep calling them mongs though
  14. You seem like quite a nice fella but who appointed you the forum's advisor on morals? Also, as you appear to be all for equality, inclusivity etc, why do you make broad statements like "they"? People like you love to make broad statements like these, taking the high ground and simultaneously casting insults at "them". If you can't be more precise about things, I really don't have any inclination to want to hear your views. All you do is put a stop to any debate that might be had. It just polarises and puts peoples backs up. If I want that kind of behaviour I can get it any day on any social media outlet.
  15. The way we're going, it will be our motto both on and off the pitch
  16. I think you'll need to cough up a fiver in order to get rid of Ingsy 😃
  17. Same for me. I don't get an option to upload/edit a profile picture either. I assumed it was because I'm not a fully paid up member. I also don't seem to have the ability to search the forum to find old threads
  18. Really hoping Sorloth is a blind to camouflage our real target and stop the likes of Palarse sniffing round. Yeah, I know there's 2 hopes..
  19. Agreed - things can always be worse no matter what situation you face in life. Slinking off to Spurs at the end of the window for £20m would be a worse scenario. The priority missing from your list is 4) Purchase replacement before Ings leaves or at least have a hot lead or two ready to go once he does leave. Not saying this isn't the case, but it wouldn't surprise me if it isn't. Whatever happens now, we'll be paying over the odds for a replacement.
  20. Sorry but how on earth could it be money we didn't expect? He was obviously going at some point this summer. I very much hope there has been succession planning for this scenario. Hopefully somebody is already lined up and we just don't know it yet. (Why wouldn't I be surprised if thats not the case...)
  21. Chelsea's 2nd Xi would probably be a mid table prem finish. Their 3rd Xi would probably stand a good chance of staying up too. Crazy times.
  22. Are you serious? We should be rejoicing because we have signed a guy who is going to be great cover for our fullback position? We need guys on the pitch now, not next year. Fact is if we don't get a goalscorer in we are going to struggle big time. I'll reserve judgement to see who we bring in.
  23. so what is this championship striker we are getting to replace him like then? Are we linked with any strikers other than him? I feel we need to be.
  24. What does that prove other than JWP has improved over the last 2 or 3 years?
  25. No We don't. Didn't you know we get our recovery facilities back this year and thats going to make all the difference? Its even going to give Ralph the ability to assess a game in mid flight and adjust accordingly. It will definitely keep Romeu and Ings fit all season for sure
