I've been openly critical of the Moderation around here, so it's only right and fair I explain myself out of respect to those it is ultimately aimed at. People should be allowed to express themselves, voice their opinion and use this forum to get their opinion across. They should be able to let off steam and vent, to be able to disagree with what others say, to be able to poke fun at things, have a laugh, be serious, start a campaign.. whatever is on their mind. People should not have to do this in fear of personal attacks or abuse aimed at them for doing so. That doesn't mean people can't disagree, in fact if they do disagree they should be encouraged to say so, but in the right way. Any sort of name calling, abuse, attack or other such comments simply aren't needed to do this. It's utterly unnecessary. This is what I want to see stamped out. Heck, people can poke even fun at each other if they want, but do it in a light hearted way and consider the fact that not everyone shares the same view of you. This applies to what you're saying as well as the way you're saying it. Yes, you might be quite comfortable calling your mates a ****, it doesn't mean everyone is. Moderators should stamp this out immediately, before it descends into pages of nonsense. And if that does happen, the nonsense should be removed and the good stuff left, don't just close the thread... that's not moderation. If the crap continues, delete it. If it's the same people doing it, hand out warnings/infractions/whatever this forum runs on. If they still do it, ban them. If they come back, ban them again unless they take the time to apologise and show they are going to act differently. I know this takes time and a lot of effort, I've been a Mod on a forum far larger in content and user base than this so I know what it takes. If time is what's missing, get more people on board. I do believe the majority of people come here to talk football, it's just a small group of regulars who spoil it and ruin the forum. Manage them and everything gets better. It is possible to have debate, opinions, disagreements and even a bit of fun, without insults and abuse. But it takes work and it's very important that everyone involved in running the forum does so to the same view and rules, which can only be done if the Admin team/Owners set out to the Mod team exactly what they deem acceptable.

Chaplow - signed a 2 and a half year deal - OFFICIAL
RobM replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
I really hoped we would have kept Chaplow the first time around, but he was too good for us then. Hopefully him not getting regular starts/games at the moment is simply a case of the player not fitting the club, rather than a downturn in his ability or enthusiasm. If he is anything like as good as he was before, we've signed a gem, IMO. -
This thread is the perfect example of why this board has gone downhill. What the **** has any of this got to do with football? Why have the moderators allowed this childish B.S. to continue for so long, to allow people to argue and make stupid, pathetic claims about each other and to allow the conversation to go so far off topic? Aren't moderators supposed to moderate? Why not try and stamp this crap out. As for you kids calling each other names, grow up FFS. It's the internet, get over yourself.

Ahhh, the other option, we're back on track now...!

Why does there have to be drama at the club before we can have a discussion on a football forum? What's wrong with just talking about football?
-
It's uninteresting at the moment as not much is going on. When something does go on, it turns into a playground and people are more interested in personal vendettas and name calling. Moderators allow it and rarely actually moderate, which sets the tone for the entire forum. Nobody wants to talk football any more, there aren't any rumours coming out of SMS now we have a professional outfit running the club so all we can do is create threads like this or call each other *****s.

Hammond's words on Saints Player - Interesting?
RobM replied to saintscottofthenortham's topic in The Saints
We really don't. Still waiting to hear where saint_mears got his info from too. I suspect the voices in his head told him, but will wait for proof otherwise. -

Hammond's words on Saints Player - Interesting?

Somebody should go back through the various articles on the OS over the last few weeks and compare them to these interviews. Let's see how many players were happy, motivated and utterly unaware of any problems or discontent who now claim the bad things in the past should be ignored and things are much better now. -
Is this the fabled 'Plan B' I've been hearing people talk about? Seems like we have a manager who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to change things, or change people, in order to get it. Good on him! I said when we were in the process of bringing NA in that I wasn't particularly excited, but would wait to be convinced. I'm starting to be

Interested to see how Seaborne and Fonte do together. And if that lineup is translates to position on the field exactly, Punch and Chamberlain on the wings seems a decent attempt at introducing some pace. It's about the only chance we have of getting any pace there!

NA said in a couple of interviews that he has been watching the DVD's of all our previous games so far, so I'd hope this problem would be blindingly obvious to him. I'm actually quite confident about today, I fancy us for a decent win

Les Reed - has and will have NOTHING to do with the first team
RobM replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
In any other job you have to be professional and put aside personal differences for the sake of the company and 'bigger picture'. Why can't football clubs be the same? -
In the reserves, I hope?

RobM replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Only on this forum... But if you say something enough, it becomes FACT. -
It only becomes a power struggle when one man comes in and thinks he is bigger than everyone and everything else. That's not the type of person I want at my football club... not that my opinion counts for jack all anyway, of course.

A bit like a scouting network, perhaps?

Has this transfer committee business actually been said, printed or reported from any source other than newspaper and forum speculation?
