  1. IMO yes. Like it or not, a large part of what people vote for is the party. There are obviously some MPs who are popular with their constituents for work they’ve done, but for the large part the average voter votes for the party. If you want to move parties then you should have to get elected under than banner IMO. And if that means a by election then so be it.
  2. I think the latter is far likelier than the former in the short term.
  3. Yeah I don’t buy that entirely. No doubt he was key to a Martin system. But he was excellent for us in the championship, our performances without him were notably worse (visibly and points gained). He was very influential for us, and my memory isn’t that he was just a crab midfielder, he was more than that. Has definitely been way off that since promotion.
  4. We won 3 of our first 4 games last time out. It was September when things went tits up. Up to that point, for better or worse, you could see the massive change in playing style and how the layers were working on adopting Russell Martin’s methods. The last ten minutes of keep ball against Sheff Wed was unlike anything I’d seen in any saints side before. With this lot, I’m still failing to see what Will Still brings to the party. The first half today was absurd, just looked rudderless. We keep saying game after game that he needs to be given time. And to an extent any manager does. But there needs to be some seeds of improvement, evidence of what he’s changing or bringing together. Not seeing any of that yet.
  5. 3 of the new signings on the bench. Strong squad on paper. Come on then. Let’s see it click together please.
  6. That’s an interview that screams “please just pay me off and I’ll be gone”.

“A Jew born in the holocaust”. Is that the right term for direct comparison? She was born in Oxford to British parents, wasn’t she? I don’t want to invalidate her argument, nor downplay how utterly awful the situation is now. But not sure why she’s so worthy a cause just because she shares a religion and common ancestry.
  8. Thats debatable.
  9. Ant bloody Middleton trying to keep the grift alive 🤣
  10. Genuinely can’t believe just how bad he has made them. Kind of hope he gets a win soon so it keeps him in place.
  11. Getting booed coming on 🤣
  12. I’m talking about the guns video. It does exactly what I expected from reading the text, it’s an awful video. And imo it’s a frankly horrendous thing to say. You seem to think otherwise, so ok.
  13. In any case £3m for that looks to be a terrific deal, compared to some utter dross we’ve seen in on much more.
  14. Quite looking forward to MLG pointing out that £3M is actually only a little bit under £5.6M and that he wasn’t wrong after all. Well done for definitely not being wrong MLG 👍
  15. It’s just so very odd. He seems to have now taken to showing videos which completely back up the intent of some of the statements being referenced. Wonderfully weird.
  16. I’d need to know who “the left” are to begin to answer that. I’ve no idea who ”they” are, as you put it. Or how you know why annyone talking with you an out this issue and not being in full angreement are “left” except for the fact they don’t agree with you. It’s an extremely bizarre concept.
  17. Honestly, your ability to shout “the left” to anyone who comes close to disagreeing with you just makes you an utter parody.
  18. “It's worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year, so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights...That is a prudent deal.” Out of interest, what do you make of his guns statement? Some might call that a derogatory thing to say.
  19. Probably to ‘Nige’ as well tbf
  20. I think we’re in a financial era where it makes more sense than ever to spend money on the stadium. If we get back to the top league of course. Back when we built St Mary’s it cost £32M and we took out a long term mortgage to pay for it. Nowadays that’s the cost of one fair to middling premier league player. And the annual TV revenues on offer eclipse that significantly. The game is more awash with huge sums of money than ever before. As ever most will go to the players and agents, but the cost of expansion / new stadium as a ration of annual revenue is incomparable to just 10 or 15 years ago. Some of the arguments for not expanding don’t hold like they did back then. Plus I think evidence shows that ticket demand has slowly risen year by year for a while now. Will be interesting to see our average home attendances this season.
  21. Well he sounds very reasonable and definitely not a chap with some extreme views.
  22. Until you get to the other end. I fly into Malaga a lot. To be fair they’re quite good at opening extra passport desks when they can, but the non Eu queue can be utterly horrendous at times. No problem for me though as I can stroll through the EU line unchallenged with my Irish passport 😎
