TBF there's sort of some strategy in what they're doing (I'm not saying it's good strategy, mind). The likes of Mel Stride, Chris Philp, Laura Trott etc will just parrot out whatever nonsense they're asked to. Kemi is likely to come out with some utterly divisive shite in the next few months so having a bunch of underlings ready and willing to go on TV and defend it will probably seem quite useful to them.

I don’t think anybody has said it was a good idea? Taxes had to go up somehow after the last two cuts in NI which were pretty much done as a vote win bribe, but Labour painted themselves in a corner with a daft election policy that direct taxes for the working person wouldn’t go up. So this was their workaround, and seems pretty poorly executed. Personally I’d have much preferred honesty from the very start. Call the NI cuts what they were, unaffordable bribes, and state that they’ll be reversed. But that wasn’t a vote winning policy, even though it was pretty obvious it was going to happen.

It looks like Lighthouse has saved his blushes somewhat by going on a nighttime vigilante raid and deleted much of the pissed up ranting posts. The silly sod probably doesn’t even remember how much he made an arse of himself, though he doesn’t seem to have cheered up much this morning and has come out of the blocks firing.
