It's also irrelevant to whether you support or disagree with the principle of the playoffs for the third promoted side. As I said earlier; it doesn't necessarily reward the team who have performed the best over the season. But I think it's a good system, everyone knows the rules beforehand, and it keeps most of the top half of the table competitive usually right into the last games of the season. If you disagree with the concept then, of course it doesn't need saying, that's fine. But claiming something is grossly unfair when it clearly is anything but, I won't go along with that. Out of interest; do you find American sports to be "unfair" when it comes to determining the winner? As i say, I don't think it compares well to the competition for the third promoted side, but interested to hear the views from someone who lives that side of the pond. I admit, I wouldn't like it for the English leagues to choose a winner by playoff. But for promotion, I just think it works. And if everyone knows the rules beforehand it can hardly be described as unfair IMO.

Would I? You've just described a completely different thing.

It can be argued against because everyone knows the rules at the start of the season. It's not exactly a surprise that finishing 3rd place guarantees you nothing. Personally I think the playoffs are a great idea. Not the textbook definition of rewarding the best side over the course of a season, but everyone knows the rules beforehand.

The only worry I'd have about the Rank Xerox (which is an absolute classic) is that a modern day equivalent would put a twist on it and somehow f*ck it up.

Not a huge fan of that Hummel shirt; but I wouldn't mind a full red and white halves shirt as a nod to history. A bit like this, but with white socks:

I can't believe I haven't posted this one yet; it's my favourite Saints video. Lawrie Mac's impression of Micky Channon cracks me up every time.

Yeah, that's kind of why I knocked it up in the first place, I'm expecting nothing of the sort to actually be released. I'm not overwhelmingly a huge fan of stripes, and i welcome us doing different things so long as the kit looks good and represents something of Saints. Neither of our last two home kits have done that for me.

Erm, whelk, what are you doing?! Check out the top of page 15...

Garry Monk right back, Fat Kevin Davies at right mid. What would have happened if baldy Marsden had gotten to that ball instead of MLT??!!

Post your own. Here's some to start. Saints 4 Liverpool 1

At international level, do you include that?

A crass statement, even from you.

England World Cup Squad - Lambert, Lallana and Shaw included

Ah right. Yes, that part is fair. Rooney has been somewhat "unlucky" with fitness when it comes to major championships but has also underperformed since his very early days. I was more referring to the headless chicken and undroppable parts. -

The United part I agree with. But to my shame I listen to a bit of talksport on the drive to work and the conversations from ex pros has pretty much matched public opinion. That Rooney is first choice but has serious competition from Sturridge playing as the main striker, and that Lallana and Sterling provide genuine options in a front 4 (notwithstanding the likes of Oxo and Barkley). I think if Rooney is anything but 100% fit and sharp we might, just might, see something different for a change. -

Really? It seems like the standard criticisms of Rooney that the whole mass media has been piping up with for quite some time. -
It's the going rate for a very good Premier League defender who also plays for a country that is a favourite to win the world cup. The Premier League transfer market has been made utterly ridiculous by the prize money now on offer. £20M really isn't a relatively enormous fee, and I feel a bit daft saying that. If Lovren or Lallana went for less than £20M it would be a massive error, IMO.

Yeah the Peru one is very nice too. In general I'm just more of a fan of a football shirt with a proper collar than a round neck.
