I'm not sure how those two opinions can be presented as being mutually exclusive.

People still seem shocked that Cortese's dream of a self financed Champions League surge came to nothing. Anyone who bought into this dream must have wondered where the extra money was going to come from. If not then they were just happy to be seduced by empty rhetoric.
-
No thanks.

Cortese speaking to BBC for first time since leaving Saints
The Kraken replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
No there aren't. There just aren't, and it's an utterly ridiculous thing to say. -
That's a decent little montage. Quite easy to forget how good some of his goals were. Also easy to forget just how brilliant the whole sash kit looked.
-
I think the first two posts of that thread nail it. "What's he been banned for this time then?" Being an unfunny ****. I can understand why Boj doesn't like him.
-
...but you can't have a Forren, they cost extra...

"Not to be too harsh on the player, but for £25m a club could buy two Adam Lallana’s abroad." It's not spot on. This would be a bit more accurate. "Not to be too harsh on the player, but for £25m a club could buy two Adam Lallana’s abroad. That said, it could also get you a Gaston Ramirez and a Dani Osvaldo".
-
And Sturridge has contributed nothing to any of Suarez's goals? Or is that only one way?
-
And there is no "c" in Kraken, no matter how many times you try to insert it, "shallet".
-
It does, but it also gets you Andreea Cornelius (almost). And Iago Aspas. Or Danny Graham. Or Thiago Ilori. We won't talk about Stevan Jovetic at £22M. Or Roberto Saldado. Or Eric Lamela. The list goes on. And £27M in the Premier League gets you Marouanne Fellaini. Value is nowhere.

 Classic MLG! 1) Post something incorrect. 2) Get called up on it. And get quoted on it. 3) Don't answer the ensuing replies. Instead, edit the original post. 4) Try to pretend the original error never happened, and hope no-one noticed. 5) TBC Deny it happened in the first place. Classic MLG, absolutely classic.

We bought him for £10M and he has utterly excelled in the Premier League. Never mind that it's Saints. Which other Centre Back who is equally highly rated in the Premier League could be bought for £20M?
-
I think you've made a mistake. Unless Saints are breaking the bank by offering him the same deal??
-
Yes it's obvious. Sturridge's 21 goals which took him to second in the Premier League's top scorers definitely prove this. A one man team, if ever there was one.
-
Fair enough opinion in itself. The whole "one man team" nonsense let you down though. That's clearly just idiocy. As is thinking they won't sell Suarez and get someone else (or more) who will supplement the team/squad.
-
Still stand by your "one man team" thing though, do you?
-
Suarez: 33 games, 31 goals, 12 assists. Sturridge: 29 games, 21 goals, 7 assists. The very definition of a total reliance on one player, if ever I saw one. Don't you think?
-
Why do people call you Strawlock? It's really not clear.
-
You accuse me of not being able to read, yet you couldn't even take in my post from just a few above that. I shouldn't be surprised, given your history of proving how utterly incapable of basic comprehension you are. Just for you, I'll copy and paste it from a few posts above: Carry on though, you're doing really well.
-
Good smilies, but you sidestepped the actual question there.
-
Like for like will never happen. But, let's take a random example. Let's say they spend around £12M and get someone like, I don't know, Dan Sturridge. First season, 14 appearances, 10 goals, 4 assists. Second season, 29 appearances, 21 goals. No player is irreplaceable. Suarez is absolutely top class, but its not as if Liverpool are surrounded by sh*t or couldn't attract the best players in the world. To suggest otherwise would be monumentally stupid.
-
Why would you take 31 goals and 12 assists totally out of the equation? Are you saying Liverpool will sell him and not replace him with anyone?
-
Good job we have none of those worries of clubs poaching our top players. !
-
"Nothing without Suarez". Brilliant, even by your standards. Truly. And I don't even like Liverpool! Sometimes you have to take your hat off to mongboard excellence.
