They do. Here’s their director general Tim Davie saying so a couple of years ago https://www.ft.com/content/20b5466e-d690-4e00-828e-5f364e22f1c5 “He said the broadcaster would instead continue to describe the group as a terrorist organisation proscribed by the UK government and others, or simply as Hamas.”

Nobody is going to convince you of anything, you’re about the most entrenched in their own opinion of about anyone I’ve ever seen on this forum.
  3. Watching lighthouse windmilling all over the place will never get old 👍
  4. I don’t think singling out Ramsdale for that money is the way to go. Not spending £25M on Archer and BBD is a better analogy.
  5. Downes is on the bench.
  6. We’re not on the main bored any more. And I agree. I think the BBC is great value for the cost of a licence fee. I also think that it should be optional and not mandatory, broadcasting has moved on a ridiculous amount since the concept of a licence fee was introduced. Edit, sorry, misread it, yes it’s a deviation from the main thread subject.
  7. Just realised this thread is on the main board ffs
  8. I always laugh when I read rubbish like this. It’s the same when those of left wing persuasion accuse the BBC of having a right wing bias. Truth is they get it about correct. If anything I’d say their political shows edge more the right, given they have (had) ardent Tories in Kuennsberg and Andrew Neill, plus Robbie Gibb pulling the strings. But then you also have the likes of Nick Robinson who is a Tory through and through yet one of the most impartial presenters going. If both sides are constantly moaning about your “bias” you’re probably doing something right. And you don’t have to be a leftie to realise that Trump is a disaster of a man and outcome.
  9. Williams was my favourite. Mills was quality 😪
  10. Thats one of the most middle class things I’ve ever read on this forum.
  11. It’s a concern but there’s nothing we can do about it if a better club come calling. We’ll be in the Championship. And hopefully, if someone notices him it’ll mean it’s because he’s done well with us. So we’ll have benefitted, if only in the short term. Or he could do a Joe Shields / Jason Wilcox, have an average recruitment summer then get poached by someone massive.
  12. But he is not he. Gotcha.
  13. They can charge all they like. They’re in 17th position and have 10 games left to make up 13 points on WBA who are in sixth place.
  14. No mate. Formations are entirely irrelevant apparently.

    Elon Musk

I can’t stand the geezer but I love what Space X is doing. Tesla can get in the bin though.
  16. Fonte is probably the exact opposite of a cheapskate deal, commensurate to where we were at the time of signing him.
  17. Looking forward to the hilarious quip about “Rachel from accounts” 🤣🤣 gets me every time that one.
  18. Quite interested to hear which publications and periodicals I should be paying attention to if MSM is such a no go.
  19. I don’t care what anyone says, I think Donald Trump is a perfectly sane man.
  20. Maybe it doesn’t kick the can down the road. Maybe it arrives at a passable solution. No idea. But I think one thing is certain, the status quo has been demolished this week and change will happen, one way or the other. Ukraine are guaranteed US funding until later this year by an order signed into effect under Biden. Beyond that, and without US backing, it’s an entirely different story. I may be well off beam, but it seems a potential course of action. Ukraine getting their demands seems the less likely of all outcomes right now. The Trump / Putin alliance will have a significant say, no matter how much we dislike it.
  21. I maybe wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the end for Zelensky. He’s hinted at it before, he would step down in the better interest. A new Ukrainian leader to usher in a peace deal, it allows Trump to look like he negotiated a win and it lets Putin look like he’s not lost face. It’s not going to end how Ukraine wants it to, but it might end.
  22. I definitely think the US got exactly what they wanted from it.
  23. Quite depressing viewing all round that. Nothing to feel enthusiastic about from either side. Trump and Vance looked like absolute weaklings. Zelensky, he’s been through a lot of shit but you don’t go into the Oval Office and try to talk over your biggest financial backers like that, despite the obvious and deliberate provocation in front of a worldwide media. Genuinely sad to watch that.
