  1. 4 years of this 🤣 the geezer is absolutely hatstand

This is a such simplistic way of phrasing things, but it’s no surprise that you got the one love heart you did. The man is a complete berk and whatever else, the overwhelming opinion on here seems to agree with that. The only Musk “fans” on here are in your head, pretty much everyone else thinks he’s a cunt, but wave that flag if it makes you feel better I suppose 👍

Thats exactly why he wants it. It’s a personal vanity project in getting his name front and centre. Clearly working too, we’ve got our bloody prime minister making press conferences where he rebuffs Musk’s nonsensical outbursts.
  4. Yeah done it a couple of times. As whelk says its further than you think. It's also well outside of Bristol and trying to do it by public transport isn't great. Plenty of parking on site though. In terms of the airport itself it's relatively decent, size-wise a bit bigger than our local airports but still not huge. I used to have a massive aversion to Gatwick as it's so massive and you could usually be guaranteed of a big queue somewhere (plus baggage reclaim used to take forever and a day). But having flown out of Gatwick a number of times in the past few years its actually become very slick, the whole check in and security areas are impressive and IME everything kept moving very well, I flew domestic just before Xmas and bags were extremely rapid. So I'm less inclined to give it a swerve these days (although for the bulk of leisure travel I always try to fly from Southampton or Bournemouth).
  5. 5 metres deep if I recall correctly. Used to swim down and do moonies against the glass. I made it as high as the 5 metre board a few times but absolutely fuck the 10m board, me and heights don’t go well together.

YaYa, YaYa YaYa, YaYa YaYa, YaYa YaYa Toure! Kolo, Kolo Kolo, Kolo Kolo, Kolo Kolo Toure! Boring boring tables! Banter.
  7. FBI press conference updates: IEDs were found in the car as well as at least two other IEDs found planted separately in the French Quarter. None detonated and have now been rendered safe They don't believe the attacker acted alone and are aggressively tracking down potential associateS

Turning? The geezer has been an absolute wrongun for years.
  9. Rather predictably the guy sounds like a total crackpot. Got dressed up in full army combat gear, set fire to the house he was renting before he left (which had explosives inside), drove through the crowd until he crashed, then just opened fire until he was gunned down. America. Fuck yeah.
  10. Picture of the truck released. Looks like he was flying a flag from the back of the truck.
  11. Local mayor says it’s a potential terrorist attack. And FBI confirmed there was an IED inside the truck. https://www.npr.org/2025/01/01/nx-s1-5244945/new-orleans-mass-casualties https://www.cbsnews.com/news/new-orleans-vehicle-crash-bourbon-street-crowd-casualties-shooting/

🤣 Indeed I am, But it’s better than the opposite I guess. And I’m laughing at you, not with you, just in case it needed pointed out (it did, that was rhetorical).

🤣 Do you normally break down other billionaires’ spending like this? It’s a genuinely amusing trait. As for Musk’s chances of success, I’d say he has a more than 50/50 chance, given the huge advances Space X have already made in such a relatively short space of time. All depends when he dies, I suppose, but I consider it in no way outlandish whatsoever that boots will be on Mars in his lifetime.

We can’t actually. There’s an enormous onus pile of research to be done on how we leave this planet. Robots answer some of the questions but nowhere near all of them. And the spin off technology will be the major benefit for mankind in the short term. So much technology arose from the Apollo missions and other space travel simply because we didn’t know how/if they could be done before they were massively funded to find out. Take away that funding and that development potentially gets pushed well downstream.

    Elon Musk

I see it the other way and that there are plenty of tangible benefits of getting to Mars, not least the huge drive in technological innovation it would take to get there which, like the Apollo missions, is likely to result in any number of spin-off tech at home. And if we’re going further afield than Mars, it’s a logical first step.

I really don’t like Musk at all but his drive and funding of Space-X is remarkable.
  17. Only surprised that little rant didn’t include something about Gary Lineker. The bbc payment model is definitely fucked, which is one thing, but there’s also absolutely a correlation between the most vociferous about it and the most weirdky angry people in general.
  18. Yes still hope. Because those things are exactly the same. Probably better off sticking to just posting links.
  19. Starlink are very decent but not the cheapest. I currently pay £25 a month for fast fibre with Toob. Been with them for some time now, I’m well into my second 18-month contract with them and the price is the same as when I joined. Service has (touch wood ) been very good up to now, DL speeds decent (250 Mbps on the WiFi, much quicker with a cable, think I got up to 800 or 900 when it was installed).
  20. He really is taking it quite badly 😪
  21. The Kraken

    Ivan Juric

Not the worst thing in the world. Lowe often used to have managers on a 1 year rolling contract. We’re pretty much dead and buried in the premier league, if we decide to jettison this fella in the summer then we pay him a year’s wages. Not ideal, but as the Jesse Marsche situation showed us, you may struggle to get someone you actually want and who isn’t inside the club already to commit to a tenure of 6 months. I still think there’s a potential benefit for sort of doing a 2022-23. Selles/Juric in place just to run through the games remaining, get rid once the season is done and immediately put in place the new hire with a brief to rebuild the squad over the summer. This is slightly different as Juric gets more time in place than Seles did, but the principle remains. And if he pulls off the shock of the century and keeps us up or at least gets us looking somewhat decent, maybe he’s not the worst choice for next year anyway.
  22. And there we have the real reason you created this thread. To try and score some incredibly pathetic point over people you don’t like on an internet forum. What an appalling man.
  23. There’s literally nobody in the role we could have got that’s better than Russell Martin. Nobody.
