Worst Southampton chants of the recent Premier League era?
The Kraken replied to Paul Chuckle's topic in The Saints
“You’re just a small town in Villa” to the Birmingham fans. I guess Aston doesn’t exist. Only eclipsed by “you’re just a small town in City” to Man United fans. Fucking fuck me. -
🤣 no chance! He’ll be staying in the PL, plenty of interest in him. This article thinks Villa are favourites for him. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/youri-tielemans-tipped-join-aston-8495534

They all are, that’s the point of the article. - Leicester City confirms the departure of seven senior professionals upon the expiration of their contracts in June

EFL make specific reference to this in the 2022-23 handbook. Guidance The EFL will consult with Clubs as to the best ways to ensure that numbers are more visible ahead of Season 2022/23. One option will be that Clubs with striped shirts will be required to include panel, but the EFL will also review number design to see if additional improvements can be made.

John Peel is dead. I don’t think you can get much more cancelled than that.

Yep, I’ve read that too, Schofield is/was a patron and visited regularly as it was based locally. It definitely seems that there’s a reasonable possibility that Schofield knew, or at least met, McGreevey from a very young age. It also seems to be the case that Schofield followed him on Twitter just after he turned 15. The rest is fill in the blanks. But wait until the enquiry. Or something.
-
I think you’re right, he clearly doesn’t understand. Matthew McGreevey didn’t start working for itv until he was 18, so any “evidence” that this enquiry may find will likely not include anything before that time. So, if Schofield had a relationship with him beforehand (and what the extent of that relationship was) shouldn’t form any part of this enquiry.
-
I think some people are taking the DSB Media one on here, the rework of the Hummel Denmark, as the leaked one.
-
I had to check that part, I completely forgot that he was a part of that. From robbing Pompey purses to winning the premier league, what a meteoric rise.
-
The enquiry isn’t into Schofield. You know this, surely? The whole point is to investigate ITV itself, into how ITV handled the whole thing starting from how and when they first heard about the allegations and rumours right up to the point when it was confirmed. They’re likely not going to be investigating in depth now and when Schofield met McGreevey, it’s based on ITV’s safeguarding protocols once they were both under their charge. So I’m not sure what “evidence” you’re expecting to come out if this enquiry, but based on what you’ve typed you’re not gonna get what you’re pushing for as that’s not the scope.

Excellent effort from Stoke, until you scroll down…

My mum used to have an MG BGT when I was a kid, maybe it’s a variant on that.

Well, we don’t know if that has or hasn’t happened already. But Swansea haven’t got much to lose if it hasn’t been offered All speculation. Like most I’d rather it was just all sorted asap, but there’s no football,on at the moment to grizzle about so this will do instead.
-
Agreed, but can’t blame Swansea for holding out if they’re technically correct per the contract wording and it’s a sizeable difference in sum.

Saints are still a Premier League club according to, well, the Premier League. And I reckon they’d know.

Can’t wait for DT to start his annual summer campaign of “why haven’t we done this yet?”
-
It’s a strange one, can’t seem to find much that says when the league officially resets. What’s interesting is that the Premier League’s official website still lists Saints, Leeds and Leicester amongst their clubs, and don’t include the promoted sides. https://www.premierleague.com/clubs On the flip side….while Wikipedia shouldn’t be considered gospel, the page for all 6 clubs promoted to or relegated from the Premier League show their ‘league’ as where they’ll play next season. See Saints for example, who are given EFL championship. (Yes, wiki can be edited very easily). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southampton_F.C.

It would be a hell of a thing to keep him. Sadly I think his ‘preference’ will be tested if/when his pay decrease kicks in and there’s offers to up his wages elsewhere.
-
I can get to 10 leaving very easily. KWP, JWP, Lavia, ABK, Salisu will be the most in demand. AMN, Elmo, Big Willy and Theo are out of contract. Already hearing tales about Orsic being out the door, plus Perraud and Diallo having deals lined up. There’s 12, plus there’s others like DCC, Adams, Alcaraz and Bednarek who could quite feasibly be moved on. This squad is getting absolutely gutted.
-
I think Phillips is a better player, certainly. Whether Newcastle can get him and afford his wages, don’t know. It would be a better signing but not sure if I see it happening.
-
Completely different player to both Bruno and Joe Linton. Probably more similar to Longstaff, or maybe Willock. Newcastle have some great players but probably are a bit light in holding midfield. Declan Rice would be their ideal choice but I can’t see him going there so JWP might be a good one for them for a season or two until they can attract some really big names.
-
Personally I think he’s off to Newcastle, I think he’s a good fit there. West Ham also as you mentioned, I could even see someone like Tottenham or Liverpool going for him, albeit in much more of a squad role (Tottenham are a bit of a mess, Liverpool look like losing their all-rounder in Milner with Henderson only getting older, I could see JWP slotting in there). Ultimately it comes down to price of fee and his wages. I believe JWP has many years left on his deal with us, so the club are in a reasonable place with that. But a big transfer fee (and wages) for a player who will turn 29 this year will put a few clubs off. I can’t see any scenario where he stays with us though, despite the fact that his destination market is pretty limited.
-
Why have they been disrespectful? Selles is on a contract until the end of the season. Are the club supposed to wait until then to start looking for someone to replace him?

So 2 shots all game, none on target, but we’re sticking with the same XI. Good one Rubes.

So easy.
