  1. Hate Newcastle. So fucking jammy. One decent player and heโ€™s done us. Our fault really for not putting the game to bed earlier.
  2. Add another centre back and striker to it and Iโ€™d guesstimate it could beat some Prem teams!
  3. Morale is higher in our camp than theirs but Bruce is a wily old bastard who will no doubt play negative football to counteract anything we do. This is a big test of how much we've improved. Newcastle should be below us at the end of the season. Draw today though. 2-2.

On FM09 I tried to relegate Portsmouth from the Premier League to non-League by selling all their best players and adding a new manager whenever they sacked me. I got bored of it in the end. Turns out they nearly managed it in real life anyway, so well done them. ๐Ÿ˜

He's part Serbian so maybe Dusan Tadic too! That beard is a bit odd too, a bit like the monstrosity Lewis Grabban has, but I'm not going to be the one to tell him! I'll stick to keyboard warrior for this one. ๐Ÿ˜‹ Welcome aboard Lyanco. We hope our recruitment continues to be a success this summer. (We'll consider Walcott as an existing Saint from last season...)
  6. Donโ€™t worry, Iโ€™m sure the media team are already working on putting the commemorative DVD of the game together! ๐Ÿ˜œ Decent win and good for the confidence. We definitely look like we have more strength in depth this season. Looking forward to the Newcastle game now.
  7. Surely Valery on the right, KWP on the left and Tella up front for Redmond? I would assume... I believe Sky Sports News are showing the goals as they go in tonight if there isn't a stream anywhere.

He has a deep female singing voice and 4 anuses? ๐Ÿ˜œ
  9. We still have a loan space that could be filled, and seeing as we tried to get Minamino back, I think we may still be interested in an AM. Ryan Christie on the cheap sounds like something weโ€™d do too. I still think we should go back and raid Chelsea. They have so many players surplus to requirements that would fit us, especially in CM.
  10. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/54438727 Everton fans seem annoyed and angry heโ€™s leaving which is always a good sign. He seems like a unit even at 17. Imagine fielding a defence of Tino, Simeu, Salisu and Small; Salisu at 22 years and 4 months would be the experienced one!
  11. That is a hell of a point. Very pleased with that, well fought against a very good Man Utd team. A good base to go to Newcastle and get a positive result.
  12. Starting to look tired here. KWP for Tino and Tella for Moussa perhaps? 25 very long minutes to go...
  13. Delighted to be one up at half time, even if I had to listen to it on 5live. However if this does finish as a United win, then already our "points lost from being ahead" record this season will already stand at 6 and we'll be well on course to beat last season's record. That said it sounded like we were fairly well organised so hopefully we can get something from this game. A point would be superb. A win would be MASSIVE. I just think United will have too much for us in the second half but I hope I'm wrong. Ralph needs to make the right changes...
  14. While I'd favour Forster as the starter (based on his previous success with us if little else) presently, I'd rather we had one Number 1 settled and not that horrible rotation exercise from the end of last season, so if Hasenhuttl chooses McCarthy as that number 1 then so be it. Even if McCarthy signs the mooted new contract, that doesn't mean he'll be number one next season, so hopefully we get the recruitment right and bring in a proper number 1 that we can trust (like West Ham did with Fabianski back in the day). I think it's probably likely that Forster will go. The other issue depends on which league we are in. McCarthy as a Championship keeper (hypothetically) is probably good enough, so Lewis may well get bumped up to second choice. We can only hope we survive this season and finally can bring in a good keeper that does the basics well.

I meant with the feeling amongst the forum users. Carrillo was almost universally panned on here and from what I've read, Lyanco seems to be going the same way! Like I say I know nothing of him but from what it sounds like on here he's like a crap David Luiz. ๐Ÿ˜€ I look forward to seeing him prove us wrong.

I know nothing of this fella, so have no comment. I guess we will have to hope Crocker etc know what they're doing. I hope we sign him AND one of Worrall or Adarabioyo, which would give us options and strength in depth. (And it would mean Salisu could fill in at left back if we don't bring in a back up.) There are Carrillo style vibes around this one...
  17. I hope we sign Caleta-Car, but I hope we donโ€™t give him number 10, or the media will be making 10cc jokes. Im not in love with that idea.
  18. Protects the asset and resale value, and in turn shows loyalty from him. Great news IMO. Re-title the thread and sticky it for all to see.
  19. I go back to the initial Championship Manager in the 90's, I didn't have a computer of my own so I either used my school's computer ( I was a boarder and they let me use it some evenings) or a friend's computer. I did, however, play this bad boy back in the day... ...and it is the only management game where I've had a player DIE on me! I was Wycombe boss and literally my best player died in a car accident. Now THAT's lifelike. Morbid, but lifelike. It was also when I was too naive to realise I could just restart the game and not have that particular player die.
  20. Pace. I would put all our quickest players in there and really bang them on the counter attack, as even though we're the home team, a team like United will have most of the possession. That means playing Tella somewhere. It's a shame we don't have the extra centre back yet, because the other option would be to go with 3 CBs and have Tino and Perraud as wing backs, Romeu and JWP in the middle and Tella, Adams and Armstrong up the top. I know the 3 CB situation was bleak leading up to our initial 9-0 against Leicester, but I still think it has it's place against better teams. Personally my favourite formation is the 4-2-3-1 we played under Pochettino but we are a million miles away from having the defensive and attacking midfielders needed for the formation! I support Hasenhuttl, he isn't perfect but I think he's been dealt a shitty hand taking us on with no added transfer budget, inheriting a shitty squad and then having an injury crisis that would have wiped out Any of the bottom 14, but he has made strange choices of late. Walcott is a back up, and should be a back up. His signing was poor anyway but it doesn't mean you have to use him. To leave others out in favour of him is crazy - this isn't the Walcott of 12 years ago. Our best team is probably: Forster, Tino/KWP, Bednarek, Salisu, Perraud, JWP, Romeu, Armstrong, Tella/Redmond, Armstrong, Adams so let's hope we play something close to it at the weekend.
  21. It also increases the chances of one of our 3 full backs getting injured. I'm all for the idea but it would leave us dangerously light of full back cover again and we'd need to bring another one in. Which we won't.
  22. Another "A" to add to the collection. Just Googled and his full name is Abdul-Nasir Oluwatosin Oluwadoyinsolami Adarabioyo. I dare anyone to say that when drunk! Fits our agenda: young, can improve, tall, Premier League experience and, you know, a fucking CENTRE BACK! ๐Ÿ˜‹ Him and, say, Ampadu would do for me this window. GK and AM too and I would literally sputz in my pantaloons. I just hope it happens soon, whoever we sign.
  23. Ah that makes sense! I just saw it on another forum. You're right that Leicester could arguably implant Arsenal as top 6 really but the media would never allow it. When Leeds are top 6 a couple of times, then it will be the top 7. Then we wait for Villa and, perhaps one day, Forest for it to become the top 9. ๐Ÿ˜œ If you ask me Man City, Chelsea and Man Utd are blowing everyone out of the water with their spending, and Liverpool will never be considered out of it in the media's eyes, so I'm surprised it hasn't resorted to "top 4" again. Arsenal and (to a lesser extent) Spurs have a long road back to regularly compete for the title although both have fanbase and infrastructure in place.
  24. Livramento in the top 10 for attacking yardage (I assume it means something like that) for week one of the Premier League. I'm not sure how it has come to this that we have two great right backs and crud elsewhere, but there we are! I can only hope he's as good as left back as he seems to be at right back seeing as he's effectively covering both positions.
  25. No. We may be amongst the dregs of this league but we have a Premier League set up and long may it last. Signing players with the potential of Livramento and the goal potential of Adam Armstrong, or signing players like Danny Fox and Jos Hooiveld. I know which I choose. It seems crap because we have no investment from Gao but we still have better players than some other teams in this league. Hopefully once our hard start to the season is finished and the transfer window shuts, we'll have signed the couple of players we need to make us more competitive. Also, I know it's hypothetical but going down there are no guarantees to get promoted straight away. Norwich and WBA are seemingly good at it, Watford less so, but we have the sort of luck where we'd get relegated and not even make the play offs. I look at Stoke's team now and it's crap. That could be us in a few years if we're not careful. Imagine a team like: Lewis Valery Stephens Simeu Vokins Chauke Smallbone Elyounoussi Djenepo Obafemi N'Lundulu I mean it wouldn't be that bad but it may not be far off! Nah, Prem please. I'd hypothetically take, say 15th again if offered now though. Then next summer we could sign a decent Keeper and offload Long and Co for better players.
