This is the reason I personally think it's our season to drop. There are no weak teams this year, the likes of Wolves are dropping £40 million + on International players (yes I know that's not an indication of their success but still...) and our team lacks experience and is guilty of profligacy in front of goal. On top of that we've taken a massive gamble over an unproven lower league manager. I'm not saying we're doomed... ... because we stand as much of a shot as the others to get ourselves out of it (especially if we buy in the transfer window) but right now things are not looking good. We probably need around 30 points from 23 games so we need a better than one-point-per-game ratio which we've not even hit so far. I'm not going to say "We're better off in the Championship anyway" because technically we wouldn't be BUT I do think even with the odd sale we'd be in a good place squad-wise for an instant return.

That was before we bought DCC and before ABK was settled. Makes sense to play 3 when it is our strongest position but the third should be DCC not Lyanco IMO. Just need better players in front of them which is the issue... and a fit Lavia would help.

We do but I expect the club spiel to be "We wanted Nathan to get used to the side he has before bringing in new players" or something along those lines, then 'panic' buy later in the window. And re: Gyokeres and Brereton Diaz, we can and should do better... but it's almost win/win if we do bring one in, as either they score the goals that keep us up or we end up with a decent Championship striker in the Championship (alongside the other Championship strikers we have!).

It was a brilliant final, a great watch. Argentina thought they'd won it at least twice before they did, and I think Angel Di Maria is due a heart attack after watching his emotions through the game. Fair play to Mbappe for stepping up when his team around him wasn't but there's only one GOAT and that's Messi. You could see the Argies wanted this more. It's a tough defeat to take and you could argue (MLT school of penalty taking) Kane bottled it and should have at least tested the keeper but for me, on paper, our defence isn't good enough.
