I thought he'd retired years ago! He's younger than Lallana ffs
-
He'd be part of my squad for the new season - if only because I'm hoping for some pace off the bench towards the end of games to poop the opposition up. He take the Djenepo spot. Easy to forget he was bumped from Danish to French to English leagues before he even turned 21. He's moved for big money, had injuries and been part of our relegated side - and he didn't kick up a fuss about moving last summer (that I remember). He's been all fart and no shit so far (well, maybe one of those farts where a little nugget of poo comes out as a surprise but those are very rare) but I think as a bench option he's fine. That said, Everton and I think it was Fulham wanted him last summer so I wonder if that interest is still there.

Did I accurately hear on Talksport earlier that the England team have had an emergency meeting where each player has told Southgate their preferred position?!? Please tell me that's satire... Googles... No, not satire. They actually told Southgate the positions they wanted to play in. During a major tournament.

Shocking own goal from Turkey - the defender didn't even look at where the keeper was.

Anyone been following this? I'm not a big conspiracy theorist but I just went down a rabbit hole on Reddit that apparently this story contains more than meets the eye. Apparently he attacked someone with a machete last year but didn't go to jail for it, has been smuggling drugs with another female and has been kidnapped pending a ransom. Possibly all bollocks but you never know. Bluemoon forum have a discussion link here about it: https://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/threads/jay-slater-missing-kid-in-tenerife.365061

If that £12 million is accurate, which I doubt, then it would probably come with a host of add ons. That's rumoured to be the fee West Ham paid Swansea for him. Would be a fantastic bit of business though and he'd be key to the way we play next season. I'll wait until he signs on the dotted line before I get happy about this...
-
Depends if you'd rather have the transfer fund or your best players. Palace will probably get £150 million to £180 million for Guehi, Olise and Eze but will then be reliant on spending it properly. I know I wouldn't trust the transfer decision makers at Saints with that money to spend!

To be fair, we probably will sign a couple of Forreners.

Something to do with him being in the way of any potential GK movement. The offside law states: "The attacking player is penalised for preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the goalkeeper's line of vision." Dumfries was offside but he wasn't interfering with play - however I think because of how close he was to Maignan and because of where the ball went past him, that's why it was chalked off. The argument was that Dumfries never played for the ball, and he wasn't that close to Maignan that he was impeding him. But irrespective of whether is was a goal or not, the decision just took far too long.

If there's any justice, The Netherlands will win this. But I suspect it has swung in France's favour with that disallowed goal
-
VAR been working well all tournament until the Brits take control! 😁 I feel robbed, I have the Dutch in the sweep.
-
Good old British officials taking the longest to make a VAR decision...

And in saying that, potentially annoying Wharton and Gallagher, both CMs who have been overlooked in trying the Trent experiment. I won't lie, I had Trent in my team to start against Serbia but it was clear it didn't work - so why try it a second time? Wharton may be inexperienced at the top level but he has been taken for a reason - he should absolutely start against Slovenia.
-
I'll say it again - Lamine Yamal is outstanding. He's frigging 16.
-
Yep, a minus 12 start means you need to get close to or hit 50 points - mid-table form. It's not impossible but as we found out back in League One with the minus ten, it hands around your neck for a while as we only won one game until October. I'm not sure how Everton are still signing players but apparently they're bringing in a Villa midfielder for £10 million. I know they expect to get big money for Onana and Braithwaite but maybe get that money before you start spending it! Villa are selling Douglas Luiz and bringing in a couple of their players, one of which is Iling-Junior the England U21 players, and are also close to signing Ian Maatsen from Chelsea.

On the positive side, a point effectively gets us out the group - so we can now use the Slovenia game to try a different line up/tactics etc.

Or Zeus or whoever.

Good job the roof was closed for that game or Thor would have pelted us with lightning bolts.

See it's quite a simple solution for Gareth because Trent is a right back by trade. So what he needs to do is: 1) Move Trent to right back where he's more comfortable. 2) Move Walker to CB because you have to accommodate him somewhere and Trent now has his position. 3) Now that Walker has Stones' position, you'll have to move Stones into midfield because he's quite good there for City or something. 4) Now that you have Stones in midfield, there's no need for Rice - but as we have to accommodate him somewhere, and he's quite good going forwards, he gets moved into the 10 position. 5) With Bellingham relinquishing his space to Rice, he'll have to play as a striker because you can't leave Bellingham out. GOAT. 6) Hmm, Ok, that means Kane has to play somewhere. He's tall and slowing down, stick him at centre back alongside Walker. He can be the threat at corners with headers. 7) Guehi is dropped, because he's been too good this tournament. 8 ) Saka is left footed, so he's wasted on the right. To left back you go Mr Bukayo. 9) With the right-wing spot free, we can move Phil Foden there because he can play anywhere. 10) Trippier to left wing because apparently he's really good on the left. 11) Pickford into midfield because he's good at pinging long balls. 12) Ramsdale in goal. Job done. It's so easy.

This has a late Danish goal written all over it. If we were watching Saints, we'd be saying the same about the opposition. I just hope the subs can spark us into life.
-
Saka one of the few highlights of England's tournament so far. I wonder if he'll get subbed off instead of Foden...
-
I refuse to acknowledge it as a possibility. Until it happens.
-
A point is actually a good result... says Southgate post match. I predict it. Or Bellingham will save us with a moment of genius and Southgate will say we played well.
-
Same old shite. How can the fans see what we saw on Sunday and then the manager names the same side? Best players on paper don't always equal the best team!
-
So many late goals this tournament! Madness!
