  1. Pretty strong team out tonight. I made a last minute decision NOT to drive down for this one. Which means there'll be goals, and plenty of them.
  2. We've been linked with Defoe in the past, and there were rumours of a Darren Bent/Matt Richards combo.
  3. If you do a deeper scout around on his website, I think you'll find the reason he joined us. You're welcome.
  4. Porteus has far too many letters in it similar to Portsmouth. Double agent IMO.
  5. There was a link on another thread that he's gone to the USA to play for a team in Florida.
  6. As we've told all his loan teams in the past - enjoy your first few games out of him. Whether he's completely changed his attitude for good and is willing to play for this team and give 100% until the end of his contract, I reserve judgement, but a leopard doesn't change his spots overnight. I'm pleased he's been playing well, and long may it continue, but be wary of any changing attitudes he may have.
  7. I work in the ticket offices of the Heathrow group of the Piccadilly Line on't Tube. Which means I'm not much help to anyone, although I can get you all the Oyster wallets you want, and can resolve journeys on an Oyster card. (Which I'm not supposed to do...) I'd like to say I could help you lot out with future Tube closures etc but I usually can't be arsed to find out what's happening until I get to work on the day of said closures. I do, however, give good customer service, so if you ever want to meet a polite Tube worker, see me. (Unless I'm tired, cranky, not getting any, fed up, already been yelled at by a customer, already been yelled at by management, already been yelled at by my missus, too hot, too cold, or can't be arsed.)
  8. Besides football, my favourite sport is Snooker. To play AND watch. Loved it since I was a nipper, though I'm still **** at it. Shaun Murphy is my fave player at the moment. I like most sports, I watch the golf or tennis when it's on the box, like any kind of motor racing too. One sport I don't like is Basketball, not sure why. I'm not a massive fan of Rugby either although it is entertaining to watch.
  9. We'll smash Burnley and all this will be a moot point.
  10. Would've taken beating Cardiff and losing to Brum (or vice versa) at the start of the week, three points, but am happy with two and with neither team gaining ground on us. Still second tonight, West Ham can still be caught too. Bang goes our makeshift centre back! :-D
  11. Come on Millwall you caaaaaaants.
  12. :-D Adkins would have me fit in mere years!
  13. We have three good centre backs. That's fine if you keep them fit, but four should be the proper number. I too think Jaidi wouldn't cut it now, in a higher league, at a higher age, and Seaborne is still on the recovery trail. Seaborne, Martin, Jos and Jose would be a good CB quota to have, but we do currently need a left sided CB, so...loan.
  14. Adkins out, for giving us all this dilemma. (He was signed in December imo, a loophole more teams may adopt in future.)
  15. 'Blackburn - Buying players does not buy a team and no matter how many of Jack Walker's millions Dalglish spends, money alone will not buy him a blend on the field.' SHortly after they were celebrating the title because of those millions. Man City and Chelsea since will also thank the millions. Predictions are tricky though. Dixon and Speedie. lol
  16. When I ran on the pitch after the last game of last season, immediately some bloke came over to me and told me I was too fat to ever play for Southampton. I'd only been on the pitch 30 seconds. Dum de dum de doo.

  18. The number of strikers they have now is simply ridiculous. Frankly overwhelming. Maynard was a great acquisition though, Morrison is a gamble, Vaz Te a flash in the pan, and I don't know anything of the Brazilian. Their attack did need a boost though, even top of the league they don't have a Lambert type player. I see some envious glances were cast in our direction by their fans over our signing of Sharp. It makes me wonder whether Fat Sam went sh!t or bust with the strikers on deadline day because he saw who we'd signed.
  19. I went round my parents house the other day, and they had the TV up SO LOUD!!!! Literally it was hurting my ear drums. I pointed this out to them, and they hadn't even noticed. So their hearing is on the fritz. They don't need glasses for everyday living, but for anything requiring reading, they do. Not just reading but anything that requires close attention. Then, they can't find their glasses, and spend about half an hour tracking down a pair, which only have one arm, and a dodgy chain so they can put them around their neck. Eyesight going. My mum talks to herself. She claims she's talking to the parrots or the dogs, but she's not. Why? Because they're full blown conversations and, at times, arguments with herself. Mind going. (My Dad lost his mind years ago having to put up with my mum...) So, how do I know I'm getting older? By moaning about my parents getting old!

Hleb's already got a team lined up I believe. Somewhere abroad, I forget which.
  21. I think the chasing pack will be most worried about these two.
  22. Late night pedantry on my part. :-) I see Paul Lambert at Norwich signed Ryan Bennett from Posh, an England U21 centre back. That man has a real eye for a lower league bargain - a great transfer policy.
