Not sure I would want him back. It's like your Mrs goes out with another bloke because she thinks he's better than you, goes to his house and does everything apart from ****. Not sure I would take her back after that.

Man of his word in football - Wenger seems to be the only one.

I passed that stage long ago, so when a manager/player goes, then I look it at pragmatically. It's much the best way to be, as that way you aren't so disappointed by the behaviour that goes on. If this does all work out the way it looks it is going, then the saddest thing in all this is that RK seemed to have more integrity than most others, except maybe Wenger, but that faith in his integrity seems misplaced. Now I don't blame him at all for going for £7m a year or whatever, but it goes against what he said just a few weeks ago. Unimpressed with contract talks. Well that could mean anything from not wanting to match Everton's wage offer, to not spending hundreds of millions. Without wanting to be revisionist about things, the one thing that I have missed over the past 2 seasons are academy players coming through. With MP, having up to 7 on the pitch at once was special. RK took a different approach - the one that I feel sorriest for is possibly Harry Reed who I though could have come through. Funny old world though. The most loyal manager that we have had in a long time gets unceremoniously sacked by us to be replaced by a manager who buggers off as soon as possible to be replaced by another who does the same thing.

Why the sad face? If he is off, then that means his heart wasn't with us and surely it is better to have someone who actually wants to be here, or is desperate to be here.
-
There are 3 parties involved in this. Southampton FC - silent apart from some time ago saying talks progressing well Ronald Koeman - silent apart from answering a direct question pre holiday as to whether he will be here next season Everton FC - shouting their mouth off saying they hope to sign him to a £5m - £7m package with £100m - £175m war chest (figures seemingly vary) Anyone else saying anything, isn't a player, just a hanger on. They may well be right, but they can't all be right as they don't all have the same story. So really, as said, not enough information is available to know what is going on with any certainty so best take things with a pinch of salt until they actually materialise. And when it does, we can all get on with our lives just like we were doing last week.

England are boring to watch and that is their biggest 'crime'. Football should entertain - when it doesn't, there is no point watching it.
-
Apart from Leicester and Bournemouth and maybe us, who didn't think that they should have done better?
-
Out of interest, was there a reason that Watford chopped him?

I agree, but maybe some here have taken all Evertonians as being the same, as there have been a huge number of bell ends appearing with unfounded arrogance since the new owner came about with his deep pockets. Unfortunately it is rather indicative of the modern day football supporter. Everton won the league 30 years ago and anyone who remembers that glorious time for them probably appreciates football how it used to be and hopefully wouldn't be one of those coming out with all the arrogant tosh

Right decision?? Really? I thought it a terrible decision, unless you are someone who only focuses on results rather than how you get there. What we did to NA was shoddy, but then I guess all of football is like that. People seem to excuse it because it is football which exists in it's own little bubble which I for one sincerely hopes will burst sooner rather than later.

Not really. Weeks ago, can't recall the thread, I and others stated that if he wasn't going to be buying into the next stage of development, that maybe it would be best to get someone in who would, rather than "waste" a year and then make the change. But as I say, not enough info to do anything other than speculate.

What about Flores? Managed some good sides - Valencia, Benfica, Atletico - did well enough with Watford to keep them up.
-
Not enough information available to answer that.

Everton's other problem is that as soon as they come sniffing for a player, they will be charged a premium because their owner has said that they have £165m* to spend. PL clubs are already going to get stiffed, but Everton might find they will be doubly so. * £165 obv includes the £65m that they think that they will get for Lukaku. I know that the world of football has gone mad, but even by modern day standards, they are not going to get £65m for Lukaku.

I can see the bookies favourites being FdB, Howe and QS Flores.

Do you think Ajax is smaller than Saints?
-
FFS. Agree, just get it done one way or 'tother.
-
NO, he morphed into a shît and has stayed like that for the past few years.
-
Sky Bet moved from 4/9 to 1/8.
-
But that's got nothing to do with why he might want to leave. It's about ambition (obviously not personal)!!!!!
-
Who knows? Maybe the club were given signals by Koeman and took him at his word, which he seems to have changed. At some stage you have to trust the employees - no point going through life thinking otherwise.
-
Not really. It was going to happen next season anyway, or maybe the one after that. Two things for me.... 1) RK's integrity 2) The way football is these days. Neither are very appealing, and I do wonder why I carry on renewing my ST rather than just give up on the sport that has turned into a business preoccupied by money. The national teams display this evening doesn't fill me with any enthusiasm either.
-
ie spending millions and millions to match bigger clubs. Some seem not to understand that when a bigger, richer club comes calling, we cannot compete, regardless of the "Sky millions".
-
What is ambition? Spending millions and millions and millions? Is that all ambition is?
