  1. I look at the timing of things.....signings are obviously not in the bag until the everything is signed off. Maybe Cedric was a little up in the air. He was supposedly going to Stoke before José stepped in and said come to Saints. So what happens if we didn't get Cedric, we would be down to Yoshida. Same with Caulker. I see it as insurance in case a) our potential signings don't happen and leave us short and b) giving a bit of squad depth which was sorely lacking last year.
  2. All gone a little quiet. Shame. "She" was happy to dish it out but seemingly keeps a low profile now that "her" boy ain't doing so well. I watched some of that game, and he had a complete shocker. Artur Boruc: Committed errors to gift Spurs three of their goals. Poor throughout the evening as he took risks and failed to take easy catches. Fortunate not to give away a second penalty, too. A shockingly poor performance. (1/10) - SportsMole Artur Boruc - Awful You have to fear for Bournemouth and their hopes of staying up with Artur Boruc in goal. He followed up his gaffe against Watford with three more big errors here. He spreads nerves amongst his team and the crowd. - Mirror
  3. Does anyone know what happened? Apparently we didn't make any complaint and were content with how things were carried out. But.....what is Chambers up to these days?
  4. Now I was thinking about this..... In his last season with us, I would agree totally. I remember watching him and thinking WTF has happened here to get him to play like he is. That rather supposes that the 12/13 season he didn't set the world on fire - would that be fair to say?
  5. I wouldn't under estimate the role that Fonte has in all this (of course just a supposition). He was one of the reasons Cedric came, and he is on record saying that he has been helped a lot by him off the pitch, so no doubt on the pitch as well. I am sure it does take time to adjust from a league where the football is a very different style, but at his current level he is just fine but I do expect him to carry on improving.
  6. Probably, but not in the PL. Some players aren't suited for it, and he seems to be one of those. Would make my year! His strength did seem to be a problem but why has, if you are right, taken him this long to become strong enough. Most players when they arrive and find that they are being knocked off the ball far too easily, undertake a regime to bulk themselves up as a matter of urgency.
  7. He does look like an astute buy. Compare him to Clyne yesterday, and it would be hard to be too upset about the situation. Very difficult to compare players, but an upgrade? Not so sure about that, but I wouldn't think it a downgrade.
  8. LOLOLOL. Call me biased but he was our best player today and maybe even the best player on the pitch (but I wouldn't want to go so far as to be accused of having my Saint's tinted glasses on). Must be a bit of an inconvenience that we actually turned up. That way they could then give Liverpool all 10s. Not that I really care either way how anyone else sees us, but damn, the Liverpool jizzfest was truly pathetic. Whether it be the pundits on Sky, the commentators, the press. Their job really is to present a balanced show/report.
  9. Are you surprised?
  10. Take that you scouse ****s
  11. OMFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFGaston
  12. Clasie seems a bit lost at the moment.
  13. Sky pretty slow on the mute!!
  14. Anfield's pretty quiet isn't it?
  15. So RK says that we might get at them in the last 20 minutes, so Carragher thinks that that is our game plan!!
  16. José might give an entertaining interview.
  17. It is easy to forget that in 2012/13 he played in 26 league games and 18 in 2013/14, so he was use and not a complete waste of money. Then I am sure Hull paid us something. This year seems to be the only waste as he is not playing and he is not attracted a loan fee.
  18. 9 goals and 8 assists in the PL and another goal in the FA Cup
  19. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3282777/Southampton-goalkeeper-Fraser-Forster-reveals-return-knee-injury-near-posting-jump-training-video.html Does anyone know how close FF is to being back?
  20. Can someone explain what his role is? Les seems to be de facto chairman, which rather leaves Ralph looking for something to do. Why not just make Les chairman? I realise that that is the owners prerogative, but still, Ralph seems to do f all and is almost like Rupes bringing in Clive Woodward.
  21. See that he is being a roaring success in Portugal. 1 goal so far just before the intl break, the 3rd in a 4-0 victory against a lowly Belenenses side. Been used mostly as a sub, although he did get the full 90 minutes in a cup game against 16th placed 2nd division side Varzim, failing to score.
  22. LOL - why do you think that? You need to be a pragmatic pessimist. Vote on the away side and if we win, so much the better, but if we lose, you get something out of it.
  23. I thought that beyond obvious. Draw might be worth a punt.
  24. The odds seem quite appealing for a betting man, don't they? Saints 4/5 Draw 3/1 Leicester 4/1
