Er, I think I do.
-
Not that there are many strikers out there, and they are vastly over priced, but if Pelle gets injured who do we have? Shlong. I like him a lot, but not as the main stiker to be the main goal scorer. Mané and Jrod could probably do the job I suppose, so maybe it was viewed as unnecessary to get another front man.
-
OK - sources have to be quoted (the word I added) otherwise it's nothing but hearsay/speculation. As for Jones being a decent reporter, we'll just have to agree to differ.
-
I think Bournemouth might be OK. Clubs moving up to PL need to spend to get better players. Norwich haven't and I suspect they will go down. As for our business, I think I am pretty OK with that, and next on the list - Stoke - I am sure their supporters are pretty happy as well.
-
So there is just one source quoted then. Not 3. He may well have spoken to Spurs, that's what I initially said. Why do you think it is true?
-
Nope, the only source is Reed. The rest is speculation. It might or might not be accurate, but you cannot and have not shown where any other source is.
-
Really Duncan, so where is the source saying he is set to snub the contract? And where are the "at least three sources" including Les Reed. I see Reed, but I will confess I cannot see any other sources. Maybe you could point them out?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3220064/Victor-Wanyama-set-snub-new-deal-Southampton-denied-Tottenham-move.html I now find Simon Jones's articles genuinely quite amusing. It must be strange being known as a toady and be at the beck and call of someone like Levy. Does the man have no self esteem and instead is happy to prostitute himself to anyone who will pay him a piece of silver? It may well turn out to be true, but **** me, the contract supposedly has only just been offered.

CONFIRMED - Virgil Van Dijk joins on Five Year Deal
angelman replied to Brizzie Saints's topic in The Saints
I noticed vs Malmo that at the end, he was playing as a centre forward. -
Would it have to be sincere or not?
-
You can't reheat a soufflé.
-
IS it though? With the new TV money, aren't all clubs getting closer to each other, with the obvious exceptions of the Manchester clubs and possibly the other "big" 3?

I think that there is a lot of truth in this. We can all go into denial and throw sh*t at Alpine, who let's face it does over egg it a bit. It's the over egging that is his "downfall" but looking at the post where he has been quoted multiple times, you can see the ups and downs of many a supporter albeit in more forceful terms. He's just more pessimistic than most. -
This. When money is involved (wages) reasoning and behaviour go out of the window to be replaced by self-interest of the worst kind. Blah blah blah, they only have a short playing career bull gets trotted out, as if they can't lower themselves from earning 100 times or more the average wage a year, to do something more menial. And when they get all this money, they still don't know how to behave. Average UK salary = £26k a year Average PL wage = £43,717 a week (£2.3m a year). This was a Nov 2014 figure, so no doubt things have gone up from there.

I thought Clyne' wasn't particularly good for any of their goals. Looking back on them - and it seems the copyright boys have cleared most of the net, save for this which is always good for a laugh https://www.facebook.com/ynfathehub/videos/894219370614959/ - seems to stand off making a tackle in all of them and gets left looking a bit lost in no man's land. It will be interesting to see how Toby gets on at Spurs. The 2nd goal vs Stoke seems to have gotten their supporters a little anxious (and hence prompted the "it was easier at Saints with Vic and Morgan in front of me"). It will also be interesting to see how Poch gets on. There are a few Spuds fans who think that ENIC are only interested in getting land around the stadium on the cheap, so that they can make an absolute fortune from selling off flats, shopping centres etc. Given the nature of ENIC's business, owning a football club probably isn't high on the list of good investments. But land in central-ish London, well, that's a different matter.

Wanyama and the St.Marys crowd ...boo or cheer ?
angelman replied to manina-pub's topic in The Saints
I'll look at it all with a mix of pragmatism and equanimity. When he leaves Saints, I won't be upset, but while he is here, I would hope that he puts in a shift. I'll associate him with our failure in the EL, although I realise that it is a team game and not a one man show. I'll still think Spurs are a bunch of ****s. -
Everyone knows Levy is a spiv. Everyone detests Spurs. I detest them more than any other club, even more than Liverpool.
-
Would love the PL clubs (outside of the top 6) to group together and help WBA stuff him in the reserves for the rest of his contract. Of course, that is overly naive but it is a problem that all of us smaller clubs face. Sky still asking whether Spurs can sign Wanyama. Reed said no serious bids received.

Not sure if been asked/answered - any idea on squad number? -
Only shame that there aren't more English.

Not sure they do meltdowns very well: http://www.thefightingcock.co.uk/forum/threads/summer-2015-transfer-window-discussion-thread.13285/page-1428#post-860629

I quite like Vickery, altough he is getting a bit big for himself post World Cup. Speaks sense, is interesting in an area most of us don't really follow closely.
-
Not sure which I find more astonishing.....this French guy for £35m or Sterling for £49m, or for that matter de Bruyne for £54m. The latter has gone from £17m to £54m in the space of 18 months. The Frenchie probably takes it....just.
-
TBH, I hope she is "skimming off the top". Maybe she has fallen in love with Saints and decides not to - that of course would be best. But the other way, and possibly more realistic, is for her to look at it as an investment. OK she could probably sell up now and make a healthy profit, but to me, if I was treating it as an investment, then I would expect a dividend. Why shouldn't she get a dividend? She can still be a good owner (and I think that she is) and take money out.

Spurs are running around like headless chickens trying to sign everyone. They are doing it to WBA, WHU, us..... They've all been given the bird and all they have managed to do is sign someone who appears to be vastly overpriced. And there was Levy saying that they weren't going to be signing £20m players any more, and that their new team was going to be in the £10m-12m region.
