  1. Yes, but that doesn't explain why he is too good for us. Are you saying that we should only have the likes of Hooiveld?
  2. Do a good job for less than a year and you should be able to leave and double/triple/quadruple your salary somewhere else.
  3. I do love the way papers can't agree which currency the amount refers to. I suspect it is euros, although I am sure Liverpool will like to push it as Sterling to keep the fans happier. He is a risk, so why pay top dollar (ie Sterling which is 25% more than Euros)
  4. Just as an aside. If our dear beloved ex Divine Leader is so good, why hasn't another club employed him? Is he on gardening leave or something?
  5. Sorry, but I have no idea what you mean when you say he is too good for us.
  6. Ducky, at some stage one tries not to be cynical even though what you write is a very definite possibility, maybe even the likelihood. But there are some who cling on to the last vestiges of a once great sport which had plenty of decent people in it, as we naively don't want to accept the putrid business that it now is. As I have said before, having lived through the Le Tiss era, some of us are even more naive to think that this is the norm or at least can be expected to happen again. Of course we can be realistic, but it's just hope. The heart speaking, not the head. But as footie is about escapism, for me are least, then its fine to go with the heart.
  7. don't disagree, more really a reflection on the bizarre way the business runs. Do this sort of thing in any other business and you'd get a rather different result. We all know it depends on reinvesting. Reed said that would happen. Reed has so far been pretty true to his word, despite what people might think about the departures, so there is no reason to doubt him (yet) on this.
  8. Everyone's best players were loanees (one I think they have signed) plus Ross B who papers are suggesting ManU are sniffing around and Baines who seems to not be a target (yet).
  9. Fair does to MS, at least he has spoken to the manager, which is rather more than AL (and LS) managed. However, there seems to have been an ultimatum delivered by a contracted employee to their employer
  10. That's all well and good S-C but the fact remains that those who have jumped already, and those wanting to jump have not spoken with the new manager and don't know what the thoughts are.
  11. CB you needs to get your hearing looked at. Championship not Champions league
  12. Cos I love Saints.
  13. I have also changed my view on the make-up of the team. I guess I had the naive view that we could have players coming through who wanted to push on with the club - I blame Le Tiss for this! Now I am more than happy to be full of foreign mercenaries as what is the point of developing the teams of the big clubs? I know we get recompensed for it, but sod it.
  14. You know, I am frankly beyond caring about it. I am looking for an excuse to give up with football and this might be it. I find my enthusiasm is severely tempered by the relentless pursuit of money.
  15. If they had any decency, Shaw and Lallana as well as Loves and Morgan, and as the Echo and others have said as well as myself, they should have the decency to talk to Koeman.
  16. Excellent, bring it on. I found the last 10-12 games last season somewhat unexciting given that they were fairly meaningless given our almost assured position of safety. Much more fun if we have something to play for. Who knows we might be lucky to get another Great Escape season, but given that we are back in stripes, reading the forum I feel assured this is our relegation outfit.
  17. http://metro.co.uk/2013/08/17/swanseas-ashley-williams-flattered-by-arsenal-transfer-talk-3927804/ Now I wonder why Swansea is different to us.
  18. I understand the "dream" but, and I have asked before, what exactly apart from PR bull****, is "the Southampton Way"?
  19. The yellow armpits look like sweat stains.
  20. I understand twitter, but what's "trending"?
  21. Fascinating. If truth be told, I am finding it a little hard to believe that someone could be so petty or vindictive. Or am I reading it wrong, and that he is a fan of McDonalds and thought they actually looked good. How far along production did it get, and did it cost us?
  22. Don't be naive. How is he going to stain his career by forcing a move from Saints to Liverpool? Sure a few thousand Saints fans will be upset, but wow, who cares?
  23. Are you being serious about the Cortese parting shot?
  24. Wet Spam is pretty bad, but if that is ours, well not sure quite what to say.
  25. Good. We want to be seen as being a bit tight otherwise we will get our pants pulled down. Everyone knows that we have both the TV revenue and the recent player sales.
