I would imagine that SRL did as well. If so, SRL's were rather better than AL's. Maybe it was a response to the terse statement from the club. Who knows?

I am not sure it is fair to crucify the man because of his advisors (who I presume is his agent). He's a football player, not a PR guru so he puts his faith in other people. That they have cocked up is the real unfortunate thing for him. Having said that, the management company has handled everything badly, so is it a real surprise that they have cocked this up as well? Maybe he should have sacked them and taken control of his life back rather than entrust it to some muppets. Looking at other people in a similar position - I always say that Beckham's cleverest action was to appoint good advisors and boy, they are good.

I know it is small minded of me, but I can't help think that Woy favours Liverpool due to his failed time there.

Really? OS said on 30th June Almost sounds like it isn't even finalised, which I am sure can't be the case.

I never really bothered asking, but can anyone actually tell me what this "Southampton Way" actually is/was above and beyond some PR babble?

Unfortunately it's all too common for those who have got most out of the game, to not put anything back into it when they hang up their boots. I don't count punditry to be giving anything back, although Carra and Neville are worthy exceptions as they don't talk inane banalities the whole time. Looking around, Zidane seems to be a perfect example of a player who has got an awful lot out of football and is now giving back (admittedly at a pretty rarefied level)

Dan, and (again taking football out of it) what about the 5 year contract he signed?

I like the reaction from certain Liverpool supporters. £8.7m vs £25m

Lallana completes move to LFC for a fee of around £25m

Cleaner, I am afraid you are slightly wrong. AL came out with some ill advised comments that were aimed to please his new club while dissing his old one. I do think that this has all been compounded by the press coverage, which has basically all turned out to be true. The use of the press by certain parties is also a bit messy. -

I guess we'll see how Lovren and Morgan handle themselves. The press is reporting that Morgan has stated that he wants to leave and we know Dejan has handed in a transfer request. Let's get this sorted quickly. Have Koeman talk to them, and if they still want out, get it done ASAP (as long as not Liverpool or Spurs - or if it is, they pay a 25% premium). -

Has he been key? I think people's judgement is being slightly clouded by his performance last season, which was bloody good. Before last season though, he was good but not that good (hence why he was delighted to sign a 5 year contract). -
Rebel, totally agree that if we had strengthened last years squad that we could have pushed towards the top. As it is, we should have got a lot more points than we did. All these players wanting to further their career elsewhere, shows a distinct lack of ambition with their current club ie us. I would have thought trying to achieve CL with Saints would be quite fulfilling but hey, money talks so it was never going to happen, especially if players were not fully committed to the club during the season and were looking to jump ship at the first opportunity.

I am presuming that the Echo advert is trying to make amends for what has happened. Let him have his say, ignore it if need be, but really, it's not going to change anything. He's gone. He was off a long time ago, and while I and others might have clung to small glimmers of hope that he would stay, we all really did know that he was finished here. Yes, of course things could seemingly have been handled differently, but what's done is done and nothing is going to be changed. I am presuming he only chose the path he did because he felt that there was no other option available to him. Whether the grass will be greener up north, only time will tell, but it's not our problem. Time to move on now that everyone has called him a **** and told him to **** off, isn't it? -

You may not have noticed, but it's a team game and I would beg to differ that it was out best ever season. -

And whose fault is that? To err is human and given his position and the industry he is in, with agents doing their bit, is it any wonder that injudicious decisions are often made? And really, when it boils down to it, my life hasn't been impacted in any way what so ever. -

Aren't the acerbic posts just a manifestation of people's disappointment at how things have panned out? An anonymous forum will always bring out more "extreme" feelings. Tomorrow it will have died down a bit, well actually, given the full page statement, maybe it will be prolonged for another day. -

Isn't it refreshing that a club hasn't trotted out the usual trite nonsense. Maybe we should have gone a bit further and done what Sunderland did when Colback went to NUFC. -

Have to agree with others about a right way and wrong way of going about things. As I posted elsewhere, it's not the first time he has refused to play, so until I hear to the contrary I'll have to go with events reflecting badly on him. -
I agree tis a shame about that. I suppose one could have gone all gangsta and said Ad is da ****, but I thought we had to have some standards on the forum

Not that I would want to wriggle out of it, but the agreement was made with the old company that went bust. Or is this covered by the football creditor's rule? -
Is that so your user name would still be ok?
