That's what they have been waiting for! Now everything can go ahead as planned. -
To put pressure on the League?

I still have an account but I don't use it myself. I had a dispute with them over 20 years ago about the time it took to clear payments from the NatWest and they were inflexible so I opened an account with another bank. All my business dealing now go through this new account.

Will you or shall I?

Didn't Coventry's takeover go right to the wire?

But we aren't in administration...

Feedback from 2 Billionaires about buying Saints...

I've run a couple of teams in the City of Southampton Sunday Football League. Will I do? -
I feel that we are reaching decision time..... Put up or shut up.

I was just thinking that these Swiss people might recoup their outlay by selling them to our fellow posters.

I believe that Bath Travel regularly flew 747s out of Hurn. it used to be a bomber aerodrome so it has long runways.

Update from Pinnacle 23rd June 4:30pm

It all depends on the terms of the contract, I would venture. -
Do they sell tranquilizers?

If people didn't keep posting unnecessary comments then we wouldn't have to keep on reading them.

No we're getting back to an earlier question. What prompted Barclays to recall their overdraft? If the interest payments are being made and the balance is coming down why pull the plug knowing that you'll only get back a fraction of the money owed?

All cheating is immoral. 'And when the One Great Scorer comes to mark against your name.....'

That's an interesting point. It could be that the footabll club will have to continue paying a commercial rate for the stadium. Who knows what the new owners of the stadium might charge? If it's the same as before then where is the advantage gained?
-
Especially when their chairman has explicitly stated that there was a right to appeal, no that there was a right to appeal but it would be withdrawn as soon as the club had a new owner. Nobody in the League has stated that the time limit for an appeal had expired which would have been the first response if that were the case.
-
I'm sure that this is all part of the current negotiations, as would be the case with any buyer if the club is to be sold. Like most of us I have been logging in regularly hoping for some good news but I think we've now reached the endgame so we should all get out and enjoy the sun whilst we can.

Seeking clarity on Monday's statement from the Football League
Whitey Grandad replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
There was some comment from Fry at the time to the effect that we had lodged an intention to appeal, or similar. As I remember, the wording was so that new owners would have the option of appealing. (I nearly wrote 'an appealing option'). -
Is this the same Kachloul who score the first two against Arsenal in the last game at the Dell? And the same Berkovic who scored in the 6-3 against Man U? Such precious memories that I can forgive them their later indiscretions.

But the -10 points would have no effect until nearer the end of the season. Are they expecting the process to take longer than that? -
It's too soon to draw conclusions about the consequences of administration. We shan't know for sure for another season or two, in my opinion.

I also found this part of the statement strange. UmP and I were discussing this a couple of days ago and he thought this might relate to the possible alternative of starting next season in League 2 with no deductions, as was apparently offered to Leeds, although in their case they were a completely new company whereas we would continue with the existing one. -
You can't blame him for giving it a go with us. Oh.
