I have never forgiven him for selling Maik Taylor for £500k and buying Paul Jones for £1m. We could do with that money now.
-
I once asked him what wrent wrong at Torquay. He said that it was important to have a good relationship with the chairman. Perhaps that's where we have been going wrong?

The first signing of the Div 1 campaign....
Whitey Grandad replied to kpturner's topic in The Saints
Not necessarily wrong: 'And did those feet...' In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void. 'And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you...' And I think Tessem's probably passed it, but I wouldn't mind having a look at Telfer. -
I agree. I think it cost us a few points towards the end.

Is this another proof of Godwin's Law? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin's_law

All this is true, but taking a -10 sanction at the end of the season when you know that you are safe is not the same as starting the season on -17.

Don't we have the record for the lowest percentage of wins in any division, and have done so for many years?

Schneiderlin - Saints Biggest Waste of Cash Ever?
Whitey Grandad replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
Whether the money was all paid up front or not is irrelevant, it's still a commitment to £1.2m. If only £600k was paid as a deposit then the rest is part of the debt that the club is due to pay. Either way it was crazy expenditure for a club in our position. Remind me again, how many goals has he scored? -
I'll take that as a 'no' then.
-
We managed the relegation all by ourselves. The -10 was not needed this season so we get in next instead.
-
Presumably because relegation is considered to be a more serious punishment than starting next season in the same division on -10.

The referee last week - complaint update
Whitey Grandad replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
He signalled a free kick by pointing towards their goal with his left arm and he whistled at the same time. He followed it up almost immediately with a few more feeble 'blasts' and a couple of players started strolling over to him. Some referees also signal the end of the game by sticking their arm in the air but normally they point to the tunnel. Either way, it was early and all a bit of a mess. -
You're right. For the first time I ever, I really don't care about this one.

The referee last week - complaint update
Whitey Grandad replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
It's obvious what he was thinking: We're deep into stoppage time. That's a foul to the red & whites. Oh my god, that injury is horrific and we'll be out here for ages until he's treated. There's less than a minute to go and this lot are never going to score in a month of Sundays. I might as well blow for time now. I've made a right mess of this one, quick, get off the pitch as quickly as possible. -
1. Put cursor over it. 2. right-click 3. choose 'save picture as...' 4. enjoy

Oh, if only! It is my fervent wish to see some football again before my time is up.

Patience, children, patience... ....as my granny used to say. Relax and enjoy the weekend. What will we talk about when all this is settled?
-
You would only waste those 3 minutes on something else. Like I just have.
-
I think the answer is 'yes' but it's not quite that simple. Nobody would want to buy the football club without having the stadium to play in. Of couse, the new owners of the club would have to pay something to the new owners of the stadium who would, presumably, have arranged a new 'mortgage' with Aviva on terms agreeable to both parties. I would assume.

I've just found a copy of the League Regulations again. It's on this forum but I won't cut and paste (even though someone has already done so) http://www.thefootballforum.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=166603&st=40 From this it seems clear that you only get the deduction next season if you are relegated anyway.
-
I must have missed that bit.
-
Would that be Bareth Gale?

It's been a long day, but this is where I went wrong. The only way that they can finish in the relegation zone is with the 10 point deduction so it will not apply next season as well.
