  1. Presumably because relegation is considered to be a more serious punishment than starting next season in the same division on -10.
  2. Well I don't want us to play League 1 football but I shall still be turning up next season.
  3. He signalled a free kick by pointing towards their goal with his left arm and he whistled at the same time. He followed it up almost immediately with a few more feeble 'blasts' and a couple of players started strolling over to him. Some referees also signal the end of the game by sticking their arm in the air but normally they point to the tunnel. Either way, it was early and all a bit of a mess.
  4. You're right. For the first time I ever, I really don't care about this one.
  5. It's obvious what he was thinking: We're deep into stoppage time. That's a foul to the red & whites. Oh my god, that injury is horrific and we'll be out here for ages until he's treated. There's less than a minute to go and this lot are never going to score in a month of Sundays. I might as well blow for time now. I've made a right mess of this one, quick, get off the pitch as quickly as possible.
  6. 1. Put cursor over it. 2. right-click 3. choose 'save picture as...' 4. enjoy
  7. Oh, if only! It is my fervent wish to see some football again before my time is up.
  8. Patience, children, patience... ....as my granny used to say. Relax and enjoy the weekend. What will we talk about when all this is settled?
  9. You would only waste those 3 minutes on something else. Like I just have.
  10. I think the answer is 'yes' but it's not quite that simple. Nobody would want to buy the football club without having the stadium to play in. Of couse, the new owners of the club would have to pay something to the new owners of the stadium who would, presumably, have arranged a new 'mortgage' with Aviva on terms agreeable to both parties. I would assume.
  11. Exactly! All this talk of £25m or £30m is a nonsense.
  12. I've just found a copy of the League Regulations again. It's on this forum but I won't cut and paste (even though someone has already done so) http://www.thefootballforum.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=166603&st=40 From this it seems clear that you only get the deduction next season if you are relegated anyway.
  13. I must have missed that bit.
  14. Would that be Bareth Gale?
  15. It's been a long day, but this is where I went wrong. The only way that they can finish in the relegation zone is with the 10 point deduction so it will not apply next season as well.
  16. Sorry, I stand corrected. They cannot be automatically relegated so the penalty must apply this season.
  17. No, because they are 15 points adrift of the play-offs (from S****horpe on 75) with one game remaining. If you then add the 10 point penalty the most they could get this season is 53 points. The penalty is applied when it hurts the most.
  18. They would lose 10 points.
  19. Apparently not: http://www.southendunited-mad.co.uk/news/loadsngl.asp?cid=EDY4&id=413224
  20. Stockport are not mathematically safe yet so the final decision cannot be made at this time. If the deduction does not relegate them this season then it will apply next season.
  21. It suddenly occurred to me this week that the advantage comes after administration when all the debts have been reduced.
  22. I'd forgotten that .
  23. I think everybody should start on -10 to make it fair.
  24. A household name? In football? Is it Peter Kitchen? Am I close? http://www.football-england.com/memories_of_peter_kitchen_famous_english_soccer_player.html
  25. Real football grounds! Yippee!
