  4. “…heavy rains from El Niño last year fuelled vegetation growth, which has since dried out during the recent prolonged dry spell and, along with strong winds, created perfect conditions for wildfires to spread.” Dr. RAE North https://www.turbulenttimes.co.uk/news/front-page/media-deflection/
  5. It’s to spread the magic more widely.

But remember we are now ‘Freed from Desire’
  7. I share your pain. I promised my wife that I would keep going to the football with my eldest grandson but he finishes university this summer and is most likely going to be away from home next year without a car. He is very unlikely to renew his season ticket and quite frankly so am I for different reasons. We might get memberships and go to the occasional game but the days of devoted attendance are past.

Not just unfit but untrained. Those extra days at Staplewood could have been spent learning how to defend corners and set pieces or even, dare I say it, learning how to mount an attack.
  9. Throwing more money at the problem would be financial madness. There’s no way that we can survive from here so the sensible approach would be to remove the deadwood.
  10. That’s one thing that it wasn’t. A back three with two wing backs who pushed forward and left our flanks exposed. We were at least one player light in midfield as we have been for most of the season.

    Five at the back innit.
  12. Shot? It was a side foot pass across the goal. Mishit it wasn’t.
  13. There’s quite a list. The key here is “in a manner considered by the referee” and “to be careless, reckless or using excessive force”. It was a tussle between Ramsdale and Mateta, something that you don’t really want your goalkeeper to be doing. That’s someone else’s job. Law 12, 1. Direct free kick A direct free kick is awarded if a player commits any of the following offences against an opponent in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force: charges jumps at kicks or attempts to kick pushes strikes or attempts to strike (including head-butt) tackles or challenges trips or attempts to trip If an offence involves contact it is penalised by a direct free kick or penalty kick. Careless is when a player shows a lack of attention or consideration when making a challenge or acts without precaution. No disciplinary sanction is needed Reckless is when a player acts with disregard to the danger to, or consequences for, an opponent and must be cautioned Using excessive force is when a player exceeds the necessary use of force and endangers the safety of an opponent and must be sent off A direct free kick is awarded if a player commits any of the following offences: a handball offence (except for the goalkeeper within their penalty area) holds an opponent impedes an opponent with contact bites or spits at someone on the team lists or a match official throws an object at the ball, opponent or match official, or makes contact with the ball with a held object
  14. Shoulder to shoulder is no longer allowed. Glasner implied that it isn’t a foul in England.
  15. Why haven’t you shown the sequence before that freeze-frame? That would have shown Ramsdale pushing Mateta first. He was more worried about getting Mateta out of the way than he was about meeting the cross. Had he concentrated on that and then been blocked then he wouldn’t have had a much stronger case.
  16. Ramsdale came out and pushed Mateta who pushed back. It should not have been Ramsdale who was trying to get the opponent out of his way. One of his colleagues should have done it. If you think it was a foul on Ramsdale then you also have to consider that it was a foul on Mateta. Six of one and half a dozen of the other I’m afraid.
  17. Totally different circumstances and different referees.
  18. I can see why it wasn’t given as a foul and why VAR didn’t overrule. If the ref had given it as a foul they wouldn’t have overruled that either. Ramsdale needed protection.
  19. So what’s your point?

    Three central defenders innit.
  21. It was a pass.
  22. That does appear to be the case.
  23. Nothing to do with Derby but if we wanted to have more points then we should have made the change earlier.
