  1. Yes it was and we've all long forgotten about it. I just wanted to make the general point that falling to the ground or not does not influence a referee despite what the commentators and a lot of fans think. In this case he'd have been more likely to have got a yellow card for simulation. Let's celebrate our open top bus parade instead.
  2. A hell of a lot less than if we had a president.
  3. Not enough for me. He just lost both his bearings and his balance. Whether a player falls over or not is irrelevant.
  4. Other styles of play are available.
  5. Had we played that way all season we might have got a point every three games or so and ended up around...
  6. They kicked us out from the central Kingsland after all our loyalty through the lean years so our current seats mean nothing anyway.
  7. Same for me in the northern Kingsland but from the other angles in the highlights it was some way off. Not that it's important it needed clearing anyway.
  8. It was going wide.
  9. Very noticeable. Paper tickets at the turnstiles and people not knowing where they were going. Plenty of unknown faces around me and taking photos during the game is a big giveaway. Some poor lad outside the ground had a half and half scarf that his dad had bought him. Isn't that child abuse?
  10. Shirt tug I assumed. I think the assistant flagged for it. Other side of the pitch to me and on my blind side.
  11. Well done. What an achievement. I got exhausted just reading about it.
  12. That defence wasn’t organised. Several times two players went for the same ball or got in each other’s way. It got lucky today but that’s all we needed.
  13. I wasn’t impressed with City. Ponderous and unimaginative. Their one tactic seemed to be to walk the ball about a bit then get it out to the right wing and try a hopeful cross to the far post. The first half was a turgid tedium but the second brightened up a bit once we started to get stuck in more. Make no mistake though, play like that every game and we will score nothing and nine times out of ten we’ll concede a late goal or three. We rode our luck.
  14. The problems were with the Speedwell which was unseaworthy. The Mayflower was an Essex ship possibly from Harwich. Its Captain Christopher Jones lived in Harwich and his house is still there with a blue plaque on it. I went to Mayflower School in Dovercourt.
  15. And the Speedwell. But that was leaking like a Saints defence and got no father than Plymouth.
  16. But what about all those tattoos? They’re expensive to change.
  17. Ships date but the sea is ever constant.
  18. Steaks in Europe are good too. It all depends on whether they are allowed to use tenderisers.
  19. I’ve had it in America. Perhaps that explains it?
  20. I blame the hormones. I must keep away from eating too much chicken.
