I have some sympathy for the argument that it is not fair on those who cannot get or are prohibited from getting a vaccine to exclude them. The same applies to families of course.

A very fair and balanced summary. I hoped I had forgotten that season under Puel but wasn’t that the one where we had a much better away record than home? I seem to remember a similar debate with diagonally opposite views at the time. Those who only went to away games would probably think he was fantastic but those of us who had to suffer at home took a different view. ”Played well but were unlucky to lose” applies as much to Ralph as anybody else. We’ve been unlucky lately. Stick with him. -
Quite right. They don’t care about civil liberties whilst they are keeping us under house arrest.

There’s no need for the abuse. It was only the League Cup final. Getting to that cup final was the only thing that Puel ever achieved in my view. I never went to any of his games watching where we were in the League table, to be brutally honest. Did you personally go to his homes games? -

No, not boring but I still don’t see what a beer garden has to do with your experience. And we lost comfortably. “Shouldn’t have lost” is extreme wishful thinking, yet somehow we managed to lose. Sure, we played well a couple of times under Puel but not very often, and that is my point. Did you go to all the home games that he managed? -

That sums up most of our time supporting Saints. -

Like you and others I have been to many great away games and come away thinking we were unlucky to have lost. This wasn’t one of them. Getting there was none of Puel’s doing either. -

What the fuck does standing in a beer garden have to do with the way that we played the game? Did you actually go inside the stadium? I can remember lounging on a beach in Barbados thinking what a wonderful time I was having. I have had countless wonderful trips to Europe but I didn’t have to sit through a boring game to have a good time at those. -
It’s what Tottenham did to us at the start of the season.

Milan? I was there too. I’m pretty certain that we lost. Abjectly. Because I had to sit through all those turgid games. I have never been so bored in my life and yes, I was there for the Branfoot games too. And to be honest I was never as bored during those. -

If I hear “8th and a cup final” one more time I shall scream and some people will be in danger of losing their future rectal functions. We lost in that cup final. What else did we win? Most boring team of the year. Ever? The real question is whether anybody thinks that Puel would do better this season than any other manager. -

Give me lockdown over a year of Puel any day. -
Against Wolves McCarthy even kicked the ball into the Kingsland. Ralph just shook his head in disbelief.

There have been quite a few instances of very fine margins recently that have cost us points. Offisdes by a few centimetres, debateable penalty decisions, a free kick take a fraction of a second before the whistle. These factors are all within the control of the players.
-
I would add to this that there are not enough first-time balls either. By the time the player has got the ball under control the defence is set in its positions.
-
I think you’ll find that it’s different people doing the criticising. It’s not a matter of what you or I might like. It’s about keeping people’s livelihoods alive.
-
I find it disappointing that Adams can’t kick with his left foot. That’s not good enough for a Premier League player.
-
I agree with you but it was even tighter than it seemed. It was shit refereeing.

Five weeks between each lockdown relaxation is ridiculous. They want that long to evaluate the effect of each one but if it turns out that there was nothing to worry about they can’t bring the next stage forward. Meanwhile businesses go to the wall.

Yes, he appeared to blow it twice. My point is that when you actually hear the first whistle it must have been blown a fraction of a second before that, depending on how far away the microphone is. In other words, a microphone a hundred yards away will give you the sound one third of a second after it happened.

There's a time and a place for it but it needs forwards who are alive to it and making the runs. Our problems all stem from not scoring enough goals (doh)
