  1. Could it be this simple? Getting a good night’s sleep? https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2020/12/covid-19-sleep-pandemic-zzzz/617454/ Early to bed and early to rise...
  2. Or because it wasn’t even close to a penalty.
  3. Not at all. His body was moving forwards but he started to move his arm backwards. A classic case of ball to arm and not the other way round which would never have been a handball until recent times. If you give that penalty for us then you also have to give one against Bednarek. I don’t want to see football where half the goals are penalties. Forwards will spend the whole game trying to hit defenders’ arms.
  4. I looked at MOTD again this afternoon (yes, I am that bored) and the player was running towards his own goal line and actually moves his arm backwards away from the path of the ball.. And yes, the handball rulings are a nonsense these days.
  5. If it was that certain it would have been given and we wouldn’t still be debating it on here 24 hours later.
  6. If you’re going to give that as a penalty to us then you also have to give one against Bednarek earlier. Personally I would hate to see that type of incident as a handball.
  7. We’re still picking up points though. At the top of the table you have to keep winning in order to stay there. The games you mention are all away games and we are unbeaten in them. It wasn’t the greatest of games today but I thought we just edged it with what are limited resources. Fulham were well organised and worked as hard as we did. For Ralph this is a long term project and we are steadily moving in the right direction. Let’s see how we do against West Ham.
  8. Yes, it’s a difficult decision and I don’t envy them for it. It’s just that I’m not convinced that these lockdowns are as effective as they think they are. What we need are warm weather and widespread vaccination.
  9. There comes a point when we can’t necessarily expect a hospital bed if we need it. We need to know how successful the hospitals are about ‘curing’ the sufferers. We get given the figures for hospital admissions but not those for length of stay nor cure percentages.
  10. Then why have them if you can’t staff them?
  11. Out of interest, how many beds have been used in the Nightingale Hospitals?
  12. Thanks. I await my Christmas bonus some later next week then. Or maybe next year.
  13. Pah! That’s nothing. I haven’t played a game for nearly forty years so I must be even more rested
  14. Well that much is true. Not necessarily the government but Google will.
  15. Who has he blinded this time?
  16. That’s good news. May I ask if it was into a bank account or onto a credit card? My card refund is not showing up but it normally takes a few days to appear.
  17. Thanks for your kind thoughts. My daughter used to come with me 30 years ago the she went to Reading University which was close enough to come back for home games and on the way to most away ones. She’s now living nearby with three kids of her own and she would come to a few games again. Have the best Christmas that circumstances allow and let’s hope for a more sensible 2021.
  18. At my age that’s by no means certain. My grandson will be at university by then so that’s the end of our shared experiences. And all for what? No lives were saved by these measures.
  19. Well it hasn’t worked so far. There’s too much talk about protecting the NHS. What about protecting the public? The tail is wagging the dog. Just let us all take responsibility for our own safety and try to get on with living a life. We’re stacking up problems for our health, wealth and livelihoods.
  20. To retain my seats. Best position in the stadium.
  21. So what? The real quests ‘is it more dangerous?’ You can’t control a virus. You don’t prevent dying by stopping people from living.
  22. Waste of time. Just give me my money back now and hope to start again next season. If I live that long.
  23. What’s worse about it?
  24. Load of incompetent dickheads. All those areas that behaved responsibly are now being lumped in with all the irresponsible little shits. I didn’t vote for them but a fat lot of good that does us.
  25. I have just received two emails telling me that I have been unsuccessful for the West Ham game. At this rate we will be the last two successful applicants.
