Unfortunately you can’t spend the money here. Everywhere is full.

One of the better seasons as it finally turned out but what has pleased me the most is that we have been playing some delightful football since the lockdown. We are no longer embarrassing to watch.

Did I miss the lap of honour?

Troo dat. In ancient times people blamed the gods. You never heard the Romans complaining about bad luck. One of those gods went by the name of Fortuna.

Instinctive. He’s better when he doesn’t have time to think.

He gets worse every game.
-
Keep up the good work We need another couple of goals.

Well bugger me backwards with a barge pole. Adams scores

I’ll be glad when this season’s over and the commentators can forget about that 0-9. I know I have.

I’ve just had two eye tests because my eyesight is getting worse. I think I might need another.

I’d like to see Swansea to go up. I was impressed by the dignity of the supporters that I met when we beat them at their place two years ago. One shook my hand and wished us well. Proper club, proper supporters.

Ivan Golac used to be a close neighbour of mine. He bought his new house in Chandlers Ford in 1980 at the same time as we bought ours. His two daughters were of a similar age to our daughter so they used to play together a lot and went to school together. I had many chats with him and he came into our house to watch our FA Cup game at Old Trafford because he didn’t have Sky TV. A lovely chap. We once had a Christmas lights ceremony in Eastleigh we had Richard Hall and Neil Heaney as celebrities and I escorted them around the town and we had a bit of a chat. When I used to play Sunday football at Hursley for IBM’s second team Charlie George would sometimes stop and watch us (me!) playing when he was walking his dog. I believe he lived in one of the newer house at the southern end of the village opposite the stone seat.

Plus we have to pay him his wages.

I was trying to be concise and I failed. I should have said, “Yes, and Denmark are one of the hosts.”

I renewed my two tickets today and asked the young man in the office if he had any more information about what is going to happen. He confirmed that the season will start behind closed doors initially and that they are waiting on the government as to what will happen in October. He said there might well be a ballot and I asked if this would handle pairs of seats such as mine. He said that this has not yet been decided but that it might possibly go by purchase orders. Refunds for any matches you are not allowed to go to, of course.

Yes, Denmark are one of the hosts.

But why golf?
-
There's a list of the matches and their TV channels on here: https://www.live-footballontv.com/live-premier-league-football-on-tv.html As has been said above, we are on Sky Sports Mix. Everton v AFCB is on Sky Sports Golf, for some reason.

Another chance of an appearance on Sunday. Or does he need two?

I must admit that my attitude to it all mirrors yours but without any solid evidence as to why. Back in March I thought it might be worth giving it a try for a few weeks but there seemed to be no thought or logic to any of the measures. I’m pleased for the government support for my business but when the state has closed down all your customers it’s the least they could do. The problem is that they have scared the willies out of everybody and now they can’t put them back.

Forward passes are not of necessity more difficult since the player making the pass is in control of where to hit it and how hard. Another concern there is the number of backward passes that are misplaced. There does seem to be an awful lot of red in that diagram. Football isn’t played on spreadsheets and I have seen enough of PEH to know that I would rather not see him in our team again. He slows up the game and gives away possession in dangerous situations.
-
Then the stats are wrong, or if not wrong, misleading at the least. He is not the sort of central midfield player who drives us forward. When he does misplace a pass, which is far too often for a Premier League player, it usually puts us back under pressure. I am much happier with our play without him in the team.

September 1st from what I remember.

Not missing him already.
