Sound levels don't work like that.Decibels are a logarithmic measure so a loud noise of over 80dB will not be augmented by soemone shouting or a phone ringing. How many people have got to complain about the noise being unpleasant before the perpetrators need to turn it down? 80 dB is described as 'unpleasant' and 85 is a lot louder than that. Long term exposure at 85 dB will cause permanent damage. You shouldn't be so flippant in dismissing complaints about loud noise. By the time you notice that it affects you it will be too late. Anyway, what on earth is the point of a loud distorted racket drowning out all conversations for ten minutes?

I have. Many times. If you keep going to gigs you will suffer hearing loss.

It was far too loud, dangerously so. I had my fingers stuck in my ears for ten minutes. The problem is that the sound quality is so poor that all we get is a distorted assault on the senses.

That's about right. Foster's grab was not enough to bring him down.

Well well well. Or should that be good good good? :):)

Getting older - was it this bad for everyone?

Not so. It's been up and down a lot more than this. At least we don't have to worry about the Black Death every day. -
I am not going to get excited over the prospect of finishing eighth again. We were mid-table last season and I don't expect any more for this.

Clean sheet, can't argue with that.

On that basis then Puel was suffering from Koeman's work and Pellegrino is now suffering from Puel's. Yeah, kind of makes sense.

Good to hear that things are going better for you now. Some things are a reminder that there are more important things than football. Milan. Glad I went and also managed to spend a night in Verona which I wouldn't otherwise have managed. Met some great Saints fans too. The whole trip was only spoilt by the match. Let's hope for some more nights like that.

"wound up broke" There's an irony in there somewhere.

The same could be said about any piece of jewellery.

Unsighted? That tackle and the Great Wall of China were both visible from space.

Fair dos. Tomorrow is my first game of the season. I won't be satisfied with less than a three goal win.

Most of them had the good sense to move out.
-
Vanguard means out in front, taking a lead. I freely admit that I wanted Puel to go but that doesn't mean that I instigated a movement. My posts are almost always reactive and I will respond to comments made by others.

I read a medical book the other day. I couldn't find anything, somebody had removed the appendix.

Lead the charge? I was one of them but by no means the leader. I was of the view that European football should not have had an effect on our domestic performance. I will make no judgment on this season's performances until I have actually been to a game. I would have expected the first 10 to 20 games to have been a learning process for a new manager. Getting back to the thread, it's football as a whole that seems to have lost its passion. Pewrhaps I should go along to some lower division games.

You can say that again! For various reasons I have not been able to attend any of our games yet this season despite forking out for two season tickets. I am also going to miss another four home games before March due to othe commitments. My frandson goes but that's not really why I bought the tickets. Strangely enough, I don't miss going to the games yet. I had recorded all the MOTD programmes but when I got home couldn't be bothered to watch them. Is it the crap football that's being played these days?
-
After fee and wages we are only looking at another squad player. Prices these days are ridiculous.

Thanks for sharing that, it brought tears to my eyes. It's sad to realise that players like him are very rare in the overpaid, overhyped world of Premier League. A proper footballer.
