Every player we changed was poorer than the one they replaced. The opposition had Wellbeck, Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain out there.
  2. The stadium was half empty so those that were still there were the faithful sort who would never boo their own team. We stayed until the final whistle because that's who we are and what we do. And because we wanted to avoid the crowds outside the ground when we left
  3. Quite right but hopping all the way to work can play havoc with your other leg! RICE - Rest Ice Compression Elevation
  4. Absolutely. There must be plenty of drips who could do the job.
  5. Foot injuries are difficult to diagnose but the treatment's much the same anyway. Rest and then rebuild strength and confidence. Rush things and you risk a setback. One step at a time.

He's a long way from being that.
  7. There is a balance to be struck. Would you not play Yoshida before the final in case he got injured?
  8. All very true, but if we were to have goalkeeper injuries isn't an emergency load an option, even outside the transfer window?
  9. Not by getting knocked out, that was always a strong possibility. Giving up before a ball was kicked is a different matter.
  10. No we didn't deserve to lose 5-0. It should have been 8 or 9 at least. They took pity on us and eased up.
  11. Nah, they'd change their mind after watching that game of turdball.
  12. Very good. I think some of them left early too.
  13. Far too man changes today. This defeat will do more damage than will be offset by a couple of days sitting around. After Wednesday they'd have been really buzzing and feeling invincible. I feel sorry for all thos poor little kids who were taken along tonight. They won't want to go to another match for a long while.
  14. Lewis looked very small in that gal and wearing black doesn't seem like a good idea. Bright Dayglo orange might have been better, preferably flashing.
  15. Not getting any better is he? I know that he's still young but I don't think he's quick enough for this level.
  16. Did anybody on here suggest that team before the game started?
  17. There is a car park at the station, the usual old coal yard site, but it will fill up quickly. I don't think it's too far to the town and a search on Google Maps or Streetview might prove fruitful. http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations/DNM/details.html
  18. There's a balance to be struck and this wasn't it.
  19. Yes, this changed many years ago and is one of the reasons for the hegemony of the big clubs. Cup games are different and after expenses are deducted some 10% goes to the FA (EFL) and the prize fund and the remainder is divided (or used to be).
  20. An embarrassing disgrace.
  21. What total f***ing colossal waste of my time. We knew we were beaten as soon as we saw the line ups. Nothing to cheer about, no passion, no desire. Greatest Cup competition in the world? Do me a favour. Of the starting eleven today only one started against Leicester and only one against Liverpool. Like a bunch of strangers who had turned up for an audition. Apart from Long I wouldn't sign up any of them. McQueen and Stephens maybe. This match was thrown and there should be a stewards' enquiry, maybe a bloody great fine. I cannot believe that the club got anything out of this game. What was the ***** point. And to think that I could have stayed at home and finished installing our new dishwasher. Much more rewarding.
  22. The text is ambiguous. 'Would be several months' is a future tense and does not differentiate between 'could be arriving at St. Mary's' and 'before joining the Russian club'. Nice try Fry
  23. Yes, that worked for us too for the JPT. The only snag I had was trying to get a railcard ticket by using my bus pass. Soon sorted
  24. Does not compute, Captain. 'Loan for the rest of the season' and 'several months' are much the same.
