What the hell are you drinking? You really haven't got a clue what I was talking about. Infrastructure, both physical and social, didn't just appear out of thin air. It was created and developed by those who went before us and nobody has the right to walk in and take it away from us. I'm certainly not going to squeeze up just so that somebody else can stroll in and take the benefits from those who have worked for it.

Alan Shearer said something similar last night on MOTD. he went through a bad phase at Newcastle but then Bobby Robson came in and spotted the problem. He said Shearer was too easy to play against because he always showed the defenders the number on his back. He should have been making more runs in behind. They then illustrated this point with Falcao (?) at Man Utd.

That whole season was one big clusterbuck. Looking back, it seems we had a death wish from the first game.

I'm struggling to see how not playing a player means that he will score more goals.

A fair summary. Perhaps the board took the view that we were safe for this season and anything else would be a bonus.
