Whitey Grandad

But if we broke the bank how could we afford the 3-4 players?

You just haven't lived long enough. My family could tell you endless stories of poverty and suffering throughout the world, if they were still alive. They didn't create our society so that the rest of the world could benefit from it. There are over 7 billion people in the world. How many of them are you going to put up in your bed, feed in your kitchen?

Desperate to get to Britain, not desperate to leave their home country. They would have been asphyxiated before the airplane had reached cruising altitude. It's happened many times before. Pleasant or not, such people have no place in my society.

Good heavens, you do surprise me. Soon forgotten, wasn't it?

A bit about him in The Times today. Basically, Chelsea are interested, we will take up the option of buying him for about £7m but Atletico will then take up their option to exercise a counter-clause and cancel our agreement by giving us £2m if he moves to another side. Atletico think he's worth upwards of £15m amid strong interest from Tottenham who are willing to offer the likes of Capoue and Soldado as part of the deal. Make of this what you will.

Now now, Hypo, I'm sure you've got enough patients already without looking for more

Is this another of those euphemisms with which I am not familiar?

Footballer. 'nuff said.

If you look at the reflections you can see a grubby leering old man.

!Snap!

Which is why most managers sign players from their previous clubs.

'**** me, there's two of them!' (With due respect to Mike & Bernie Winters)

Eurovision, I presume? We don't want any Euro failures here, thank you very much.

But as was pointed out in one newspaper with regard to the Sterling situation, by not signing an improved offer now the player is also missing out on several months of higher earnings. These may be recouped later but the player might get injured in the time that he's waiting.

“Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee.”

What he doesn't realise is when he is being made to look a tool himself. Sometimes it's like taking candy from a baby, you shouldn't do it but you just can't help yourself. The world would be a poorer place without his sort.

Absolutely. I have no sympathy whatsoever.

We're missing one important factor here. 'Clyne is the last piece in the jigsaw, with him we can push on to higher glory'. Or 'We are building a new dynasty' etc. etc. Maybe Clyne would have helped them finish even higher last season? I don't believe any of it but when owners, managers and players start getting delusions of grandeur they can sometimes be convinced of anything.

Even Stoke fans don't care about Stoke.

You've left a 'some' out somewhere.

If they travel across continents then it's greed, not desperation.

Pompey Madness. Has a nice ring to it.

Nah, too thin.

I suspect he's still a person of interest but any decision would depend on other possible acquisitions.
