  1. Throw-in. I'd like to see it again.
  2. It's the difference between a matter of law or a matter of fact.
  3. Agreed. I'm much more interested in where we're going than where we've been.
  4. Don't the board wear them for a week or two before deciding?
  5. Even worse is that the English don't have a vote on whether to get rid of them. This wouldn't just be Scotland that was gaining independence.
  6. He had the card with number 7 on it ready and you can see him turn round and say "Moods, sit down". Branfoot never understood flair or genius. I'm hoping for a couple of similar goals today
  7. Makes all der world of difference.
  8. Not sacked : mutual consent.
  9. Please, that's a sore point.
  10. I hate the very thought of it. It just isn't cricket.
  11. She can check my hose anytime.
  12. I'm sure you both know, but others might not, that these three battles involved England fighting against Scotland and for once it would be good to teach those of a Scottish bent the other side's point of view. Scotland would not be allowed to walk straight into the EU and would have to go through a qualification period, if accepted.
  13. [quote=david in sweden;2049879 Certain players seem to be "experts at winning penalties"...when it fact what they should get is a yellow card for diving. At least a replay would show the reality of it, and not left to the ref 's "guess" .when he's trailing 20 yards behind the play. Modern refs are usually quicker than the players at keeping up with play. Edit: I've just noticed that my ipad had put 'modem' instead of 'modern'. When were talking about too much technology in football that's quite appropriate.
  14. But who would provide the video snippets for that monitor? It would have to be an independent FA group of officials, and in some cases EUFA or even FIFA.
  15. And polluted air. It's covered in a pall of yellow smog most of the time.
  16. We're going down to Malmö and over the Øresund bridge and then the Storebælt bridge to Sønderborg, I know some people there from when I used to do a lot of work for them. Apart from buying the giant horse the other reason for coming was to go over these bridges. We would gave stated around longer but I need to get back for the Newcastle game.
  17. There's been one in Christchurch New Zealand since the earthquake. http://retaildesignblog.net/2013/02/05/shipping-containers-restart-shopping-mall-christchurch-new-zealand-2/
  18. Hi David, In Helsingborg now Don't forget that I and others in here are qualified referees and have been through these discussions several times before. Yes, you're right, it's when the ball is kicked that matters but no part of the arms is considered. Any other part of the body can be offside such as the nose, knee, foot.
  19. Do you know how tempting that is
  20. There's no such thing as level. He was comfortably nearer the goal than the defender. This is not athletics or horse racing, 'any part' of his body (except arms) is enough, not just the chest.
  21. But the line isn't accurate, and it should be a vertical plane, not a line. Running the line is a very specialised job which requires a lot of practice and it's not until you've tried it that you appreciate what's involved.
  22. That was an obvious mistake and I referred to this rare type of instance (might be on the other thread). Surely we're not talking about introducing this system for a once-a-season instance?
  23. Your blind faith in technology is more disturbing. If you knew every imaging process that took place before you see the final 2D image then you might be more reluctant to embrace it. The camera always lies.
  24. Most comments on offside that I have seen have been completely wrong. There have been the odd couple of obvious errors but in most cases the official has made the correct decision. The line that they draw is just an estimate and no more accurate than standing there and judging yourself, at least you're level with the second-last defender and can judge whether any part if the attacker (excluding the arms) is nearer the goal. Even then there's an element if judgment as to whether they are interfering or so on in any way.
  25. From any perspective it's a case of 2-0, job done.
