  1. I am offended that somebody wants to be able to see my face without me being able to see theirs. I don't care what religion, creed or colour they are. The major part of communication is non verbal.
  2. You don't have to sign up to a campaign in order to be in favour of it. You certainly can't infer that not signing up means you're against.
  3. Both his free kicks yesterday were overhit, as was his first corner.
  4. Not at all. If I were a shopkeeper and somebody came in wearing a balaclava or a Zorro mask I would assume that they wanted to conceal their identity. The same would apply to anybody working behind a reception desk or in any position requiring regular contact with the public. There is a big difference between covering your hair with a scarf and completely obscuring your face.
  5. I find it deeply offensive that anybody should cover their face in public and in my presence. Facial contact is an important part if our culture and communications.
  6. I've bought a reconditioned 32Gb one on EBay for £119 (up to £135 now) from Tesco_outlet. It arrived this morning and looks pretty useful. This is the previous model with 1290x800 screen. I might buy the latest from Currys at £239.99 inc VAT and pass this one on. There's a 5% discount offer on this for home delivery.
  7. It matters not that the penalty was debatable. What about the debatable ones that weren't given?
  8. It takes several games for new players to settle into the team. My view is that we are a better team than this time last season and definitely more solid. First build a solid defence and then work on scoring more goals.
  9. How can these words possibly be considered homophobic? It's a simple question, easily answered.
  10. How many have we let in?
  11. Wouldn't have been a corner. Jaaskelainen gathered the ball.
  12. To be fair, I don't believe it either.
  13. God, West Ham are awful. Poor first touches from J-Rod and Adam in particular let us down in important situations. We are becoming very difficult to beat. If only we old score more.
  14. What more could he have done, scored a hat trick?
  15. That's true. I forgot that footballers are thick.
  16. They could always focus their attention on Saints?
  17. Or waiting for a haircut. I always seem to be called forward just as I've read page two...
  18. 'Tis political correctness gone mad. 'Please don't use this word because somebody might get offended'.
  19. Cotton wool doesn't stop bullets. HTH
  20. We were standing right behind the goal when that flew in. You couldn't tell if it was on target or not until the last second.
  21. Could have been worse. At least he didn't work in a beetroot factory.
  22. Indeed, but the situation now is that a number of players are receiving money as a result of their previous employment. Surely there must be a tax liability on these payments? If not, I can see an opportunity for avoiding tax in all sorts of situations where a company is not currently viable but is expecting to receive payments at some point in the future.
  23. Why are footballers always quoted as wages per week when almost everybody in the country is paid monthly?
  24. Not necessarily. You might just put your costs up so much that you are no longer commercially viable.
  25. Watching Villareal v Real Madrid. Bale has just equalised.
