Technically 'The Crown' does not own the ground under your feet, the landowner owns the land down to the centre of the Earth and to the edge of the atmosphere. 'The Crown' has ownership of certain minerals within that ground, basically anything that's worth anything. 'The Crown' does not mean Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. -

You have to pay somebody to extract it. These companies have built the infrastructure in exchange for a share of the oil produced. Not the same as ownership, I grant you, but effectively some of the oil has been 'sold' to these companies. -

The Shetlands may disagree. They could just as easily decide to stick with Westminster. -
Lack of exercise perhaps?

You've put it better than me. They were both standing there open-mouthed. If they had had pockets in their shorts they would have put their hands in them. -
Tories borrow more in 3 years than Labour borrowed in 13.

They weren't run up in the last 3 years!!!! They were run up by the previous lot. If you can't understand that then we are wasting our time even debating it. 'Bye -

Oh for goodness sake.! There is a lag between spending commitments and borrowing the money to pay for them of a few years. Today's borrowing is due to overspending from previous years. It's as simple as that. If we're going to have a debate about value for money for government largesse at least let's understand the economics first. What the f**k have they spent all that money on? It's going on all the people to fill those hospitals, schools etc. Plus interest on the money that was previously borrowed. -
Yes, but there are plenty of others during the game. Just grabbing the shirt is not a foul, the player has to be restrained from moving. Some players have a hold of the other's shirt so that they can watch the ball and at the same time feel where the opponent is moving. Usually in cases like this each player has a handful or the other's shirt.

Yes, you can't say that his decision was wrong, but he has to do the same for every other incident during the match, in which case it would have been a whistle-stop affair.

At Christmas midtables are usually occupied by the turkeys.

They won't, the ref gave him a yellow card so it can't be reviewed. He should be banned for three months anyway, in my opinion.

I don't see any of his teammates trying to offer him someone to pass to. Too busy wondering what the f*ck he's up to I suppose.

Global warming really is happening... (well, duh!)

It's been some time since I looked at his ramblings but as I understood his position it was that we would all be better off spending even a fraction of the money that we are now throwing at 'green' policies at mitigating and providing for the effects of the inevitable changes in global climate. Spending more on foreign aid? I would prefer to see that what we spend now is better targeted at shat are undoubtedly serious problems. -

A PhD is neither an indication of smartness nor intelligence. You don't need one to know that. -
