  1. My point is that these other events are seen as extremely important by some groups of people whilst others are totally indifferent. In my, admittedly limited, circle of acquaintances most took no interest in the Games whatsoever, yet will agree that they were a success for those who took part. But living down here on the south coast we do tend to have a different perspective to the London-centred media that dominate British economic and political life. I think this article probably sums up my attitudes best, and I never thought I'd say that about The Socialist World. http://www.socialistworld.net/doc/6379
  2. I think you'll find that the vast majority were totally indifferent to the Games, much as they are over the World Cup, The Ashes, the death of Princess Diana...

  12. We bought our house at the same time and in the same close as Ivan Golac. My daughter went to school with his and he came to my house one evening to watch Saints knock Man Utd out of the cup because he didn't have Sky. We used to chat regularly. My daughter also used to sit next to Alan Ball's son Jimmy at junior school.

  22. What does everybody see in James Milner?
  23. It's a fine decision to be made. Reduce prices and encourage larger crowds or maintain a higher price and keep you profit margins up. Other considerations such as pleasing the fans or creating a good atmosphere that might help to propel the team into the next round are secondary these days. I'm afraid this is a business, not a club.
  24. In Germany BMWs are butchers' cars. Men of importance drive Mercedes.
