  1. I can talk a lot of drivel myself at times.
  2. Well done! Of all the teams who could have been promoted I'm pleased for them.
  3. Or two draws. It's getting more complicated!
  4. Congratulations Reading.
  5. Is there anything associated with your club that isn't?
  6. We're thinking of you Alps.
  7. My dad was a LAC instrument technician in Coastal command working on Beaufighters and Mosquitos. During the war when my big sister was ill they flew him down from Scotland in the navigator's seat so the pilot had to do all the course plotting himself. My dad said that he kept lowering the undercarriage and dropping under the clouds to see where he was. Why would he have done that? He also told me that all the pilots said that they'd rather be in a Beaufighter going in to the attack and a Mosquito on the way out.
  8. I shall cope by not looking until it's all over. I'm a big Jessie where away games are concerned.
  9. Link to image: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/resources/images/1973724/?type=articleLandscape That should be ok for copyright? Please remove if a problem. The lady in question is the one without a tie.
  10. Yes, I haven't a clue why he was doing, and neither did he.
  11. We're up the Baltic on Aurora. I would make the Thursday and the final though. Still, if you're trying to win a race you mustn't look over your shoulder.
  12. Should that have been prosecution or persecution?
  13. He's bigger than me.
  14. Of course match fixing goes on in our top leagues, there are too many unexplained actions for it not to be true. Apart from Grobbelar there was that match at Everton that they won 3-2. Their third goal went under the keeper who takes his hand away at the last minute. Of course I can't prove it, but I was at Coventry when Bruce punched the ball into his own net. I have only seen the 'highlights' of the West Ham - Brighton game but one team wasn't trying very hard.
  15. At the end of the dock past Ocean Terminal: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/district/southampton/9408620.__2m_Spitfire_monument_is_on_launch_pad/
  16. I prefer the orange/yellow flame one.
  17. I know it's hard to believe but there are people who couldn't give a toss about the next few results. I'm not sure if I envy them, or not. Where ignorance is bliss 'tis folly to be wise.
  18. I knew that but I thought I'd point it out before some pedant did.
  19. Only if it's 4 points for a win.
  20. Did anything happen with that proposal for a giant sculpture on top of a hill, near Rownhams I think? It would have been a spitfire standing on its tail, rather like the Angel of the North.
  21. Correct, usually the following Saturday and then the Tue/Wed after that.
  22. Cork was the spectator for that goal. Whether Morgan would have picked up ALF is anybody's guess.
  23. Absolutely. I have been critical of him but that wasn't his fault. Fox for the vanity pass that picked out the only Reading player amongst four of ours, Fox for not getting in Kebe's face for the cross and Fonte for getting sucked under the cross and not blocking Roberts's run and header. You also have to criticise all the missed chances from Lallana and Lambert in particular whilst you're at it.
