They remind me of Sunderland in the years before they finally went down. Like a turd that won't flush.

Watching the way he fell, he was in no state to threaten anyone. He was face down on the floor, conscious or not. And it's not whataboutery at all. If the copper had used reasonable force, and by some freak set of circumstances the guy died, then sure. But stamping on someone's head is not, and never will be considered reasonable force. You only do that if you are in a state of rage and intent on seriously injuring the recipient. Whatever the full circumstances that led to this incident were (which I'm sure we'll find out in due course), the kick and stamp from the copper was entirely unnecessary. I get that he had just been attacked, but he was clearly out of control and not acting rationally. I don't see how he can keep his job when he's proven that he can't be trusted to keep his cool under pressure. So I can't accept that the guy "got what he deserved". Once he's been tried and convicted of assaulting an officer / ABH or whatever, and sentenced accordingly, then he will have.

They did neutralise the threat. He got tased and was lying unconscious face down on the floor. At this point, he was no threat to anyone and the decision on what to do next should have been a very easy one for that copper - put some handcuffs on him and that's that. Stamping on the guy's head could have killed him. Would you still be saying he "got what he deserved" if he had died?

So they lost 2-1 to Salford yesterday. No Branthwaite again. And DCL with a miss that would make even Che feel embarrassed. The gallows humour on GOT is truly something to behold. There's a pretty unanimous opinion that they're going to go down this year.

He did well to control that and shoot. Who played him in? Couldn't see.

What? You mean Celine Dion doesn't represent the zeitgeist?
-
Yep. And the rain actually accentuates that.

New 3rd kit options?

Looks like @Turkish is going to have to up his game to reclaim the record of 'most laughing emojis on a single post'.

I'm afraid I don't know what you Nene.

Eau I hope they dont. I'd Rother they sat Idley by and let it run it's course before swinging the Exe.

To make it simple for you: Trans people happily refer to themselves as trans, when it is used as an adjective. However, you will never find a single one that refers to themselves as "a trans", using the word as a noun. I'm not one of the 'pile-on' posters, and I have called them out for it in the past when it has been excessive. So my criticism is not simply an ad hominem attack, it is justified because you've used inappropriate language and refused to acknowledge or retract it when that has been pointed out to you.

Don't worry. We're only Teesing. I expect we'll grow Wear-y of it sooner or Leater.
-
And yet, if you had just omitted the 'a' in your original post, none of this would have even been an issue. Can you not see the difference between referring to someone as "trans" and referring to them as "a trans"? It might seem trivial to you, but using correct language is really important if you don't want to be seen as ignorant or dismissive. You might try and pass this off as another case of being 'careless', but that just seems to happen way too often with you doesn't it.

Or at least Rase the standard of them. Bad puns are the Bain of my life, and not Eden funny.
-
No, no, no, no, no. From what I've heard from the inside at Everton, he's completely done as a professional footballer. Would be an even worse signing than Carillo, even on a free.

Wensum people start making puns, he just can't help but join in Witham.

Some bloke who's got a house in Winchester as far as I know.

Yeah, the match thread on Grand Old Team forum was quite entertaining from an outsider's perspective 🤣

SR already own one French club, if that's what you're thinking.

Branthwaite won't still be there when the window shuts. They had their first pre-season friendly on Friday against Sligo Rovers with a different 11 in each half and he wasn't in the squad despite being fit. My nephew, who has always played in midfield until now, started the game at CB, so it looks likely they are already planning for the season without Branthwaite. They drew 3-3 against a second string side (because the first team played in the FAI Cup on Sunday) after being 2-0 down. Our old friend Mason Holgate got them back to 2-1 with a header, then a minute later he gifted Sligo a 3rd goal with a horrific back pass under no pressure.

I think the question being raised was: could Palace decide to keep him if he has a great season and we want to exercise our option to buy? I don't think they can, but I believe the player himself could refuse the permanent move.

Maybe we can resurrect the "back from the dead" chant for Ross, if and when we ever see him play for us.

This is true, but where is such a candidate going to come from? They have long since purged everyone with any kind of moral conscience from the party.
