  1. This is exactly what I'm talking about. In the 2022/23 season he was subbed off with injury a total of THREE times. On each occasion, he was out for a number of games afterwards. Two of those were due to his ongoing shoulder problem. The other was a knee injury that kept him out for 10 games. This narrative that he was a coward who wanted to come off when he didn't fancy it is just utter bollocks.
  2. Where has this narrative come from? He suffered a few injury problems with us, and some people seem to have extrapolated from that that he is a cowardly player who bails out when things aren't going his way. It's nothing but a bonkers theory that someone came up with on here and seems to have somehow crept into some kind of consensus. He's still young, and he looked excellent at times with us before that whole season turned to shit. His injury record is a concern, but if he's currently fit then I see no reason why he can't play a big part for us this season.
  3. First euro final in 55 years? Does the one against Italy 3 years ago not count then?
  4. Watkins MOTM? Great winning goal, but really?
  5. England's first ever on foreign land!
  6. That's a peach. What's Simons whining to the ref about?
  7. Dutch counter attack brought about by Rice charging forward and pressing the keeper and leaving a huge gap in midfield.
  8. Gonna be offside isn't it.
  9. No idea. Dutch have got us pegged back a bit, and with only Kane up front we've got no out ball cos he's far too immobile. Need to make changes.
  10. Koeman has identified the problem area from the first half and remedied it, and Southgate doesn't seem to know how to respond to that change.
  11. I agree - he's like an undroppable millstone around our neck.
  12. Saka did so well there, but our lack of a mobile striker meant noone in the box to get on the end of his cutback.
  13. Shaw on for Trippier is a positive change.
  14. Best half of football I've seen from England so far. But a lot of that is down to naivety from the Dutch giving us too much space in the final third. And as poor as they have been, they've scored a good goal and hit the bar, so we can't get complacent.
  15. Wasn't an attempt to trip. They both went for the ball, Kane got there first and got a shot away, but then had his foot caught on the follow through.
  16. Great effort from Foden. Unlucky.
  17. Still waiting for a replay of that but it looked like he was offside when it came through to him.
  18. Surprised the ref changed his mind on that TBH. There was contact but it didn't stop Kane getting his shot away first. Although I suppose you could argue the foul action prevented him from being able to get the clean strike he would have wanted.

    Russia

    Or, indeed, the Russians.
  20. What exactly was Mbappe complaining to the ref about after Spain's first goal?
  21. Shocking defending from Spain for that goal.
  22. I've never seen him play myself, but my nephew has played against him at U21 level a few times and reckons he is up there with the best he's ever played against and going to be some player. Given how accurate he was about Lavia and Livramento, having played against them both previously, I'm inclined to take his word for it.
  23. I joined in an all employee Q&A session with our new Secretary of State today. Nothing groundbreaking and plenty of tempering of expectations, but a solid performance and a repeat of the promise from Starmer that policy will be driven by data and evidence rather than dogma. His first full day on the job, and already we've had more engagement from him than we ever did from any of his 3 predecessors. Promising signs indeed.
  24. I imagine it's significantly harder to find suitably qualified women's managers than men's.
