"Open the door, get on the floor Everyone laugh at the dinosaur" Yeah it would be really childish and classless if that were to start up from the Northam wouldn't it! 😂

I don't think he really cares. He's nearing retirement and he's working less hours for more money. Wouldn't every one of us want the same?
-
BBC reporting he had blurred vision and was sick. Hopefully it's toxoplasmosis.

Happy enough to see Newcastle beat Villa. They're not going down now, let's face it. So I'd prefer to see them taking points off our more direct rivals. Just need WH to draw or win against Leicester and we can finish the weekend above the two teams that poached our 'best' players in the summer.
-
Zouma starts for WH then. No morals whatsoever.

Trippier off injured now. If he's out for a while and misses the re-arranged games, is that some sort of Karma?

For those over 40, a trip back memory lane
Sheaf Saint replied to Southamptonsi's topic in The Saints
I was working in retail in the mid 90s and I distinctly remember asking my boss who was a Utd fan if I could take a late tea break on a certain Saturday afternoon in 1996 to pop up to Curry's and check the scores. It was still 5-2 when I arrived. My boss flat out refused to believe me when I told him what the final score was. -

Always used to play a lot of Beatles tunes IIRC. -

And then the instrumental outro to ELO's Mr Blue Sky as they did the roundup of the games. -
Agreed. He was highlighted by the MOTD pundits along with Ely as a key part of our good overall performance. It's not like the chances he had were sitters. I would definitely keep him in against Everton as LB is a weak point for them. It will either be the new and unproven Mykolenko, who was missing yesterday with Covid, or Coleman playing out of position. Either way, it's a weakness we should be looking to exploit.

Forster in for McCarthy is a big factor, but Stu's return to fitness and form shouldn't be understated. It really is quite bizarre how different we are with/without him.

How about something based on Elvis Costello's "She"?

Jack Stephens' passion & has he improved?
Sheaf Saint replied to niceandfriendly's topic in The Saints
He's done perfectly well when he's had an extended run in the team, earlier this season and after the re-start in 2020. I don't think there is much at all between him and Bednarek really. Looks to me like he has finally matured with experience, and has cut out most if not all of the silly mistakes he used to make. Seeing his name on the team sheet doesn't fill me with the sense of dread that it used to, let's put it that way. -
The Minsk Memorial Thread (and continuation of his work)
Sheaf Saint replied to Minsk's topic in The Saints
I'll wait for someone else to do Minsk proud and work it all out properly, but I have a stange inkling that our head-to-head might have got a bit of a positive boost today! -
As long as he takes his chances and doesn't make a hash of them.
-
That's because Djenepo hasn't been playing recently.
-
Their real danger player at the moment is Anthony Gordon. All their good attacking play recently has come through him so if we shut him out we'll drastically improve our chances of winning IMO.
-
Quite simply, if we perform as we have over our last 3 league games then we will have far too much for them. I've watched tham an awful lot this season and they've been mostly terrible. I know they got a convincing win today but Leeds seem to be a Jekyll and Hyde team these days so I don't know which one turned up at Goodison. Lampard is not going to have magically turned a squad full of dross into world beaters overnight, but it sounds like Donny VDB was influential for them today, so we'll need to keep him quiet. They have some occasionally good players but no consistently good ones, and that's why they are where they are in the table. Their midfield is weak and with Doucore still injured they are relying on Gomes who has 1 good game in 10. He's a very cowardly player and if teams press him hard he crumbles. Their back 4 is a shambles, and their best defender Yerry Mina is out for another couple of months now having already had all sorts of injury problems this season. Their CB pairing will be Keane and Holgate who are both poor and won't be able to cope with the current form of Che and Broja. Fullback is also a very weak area for them. They started the season with only one decent one and they sold him last month because he'd fallen out with Benitez, then sacked Rafa a week later. Great forward planning. Their options there are Coleman, Kenny and Mykolenko who hasn't shown any sign yet of being up to the pace of the PL. Up front, Richarlison blows hot and cold but he won't get much/any change out of Salisu on current form. He does seem to have an annoying habit of scoring against us though. Their spirits will have been lifted by their win today, but I am confident we will bring them back to Earth with a bump next week. We really shouldn't be fearing them at all. Go at them, get in their faces, get an early goal and press them and they will collapse like they did against Newcastle.

The Minsk Memorial Thread (and continuation of his work)
Sheaf Saint replied to Minsk's topic in The Saints
So so sorry to get this news. Minsk was a regular on here for as long as I can remember, and he always came across as thoughtful and knowledgeable. Definitely one of the posters that made this place worth sticking around. I've always said that I could go to my grave happy if I go with the knowledge that I have made a positive impact on at least one person in the world, and I hope Minsk knew that he achieved just that with his valuable contributions to this community over the years. Rest in peace mate.- 278 replies

Scholes summing up the entitlement perfectly... "It's Man Utd, they should have the best of everything" In fairness though he's being very complimentary about us as well.
-
Hands up anyone who honestly thought we would get 4 points this week?
-
Are Man U trying to take our crown as the team that drops the most points from winning positions? And immediately the BT pundits are trying to sell Ralph to Utd again. Pricks.

What's Ronaldo moaning about?
