One or two people may have put forward the opinion of 'the debate is over' but actually the IPCC's latest report concludes with a 95% probability that human activity is responsible for the observed warming over the last century. I don't know about you but to my mind, a 95% probability is a pretty sound basis for implementing policy. As this thread and many other debates like it have proved, there will never be a 100% consensus on the issue, therefore we cannot afford to continually delay and wait for that which will never occur before taking action. I believe it was Minty who has mentioned the precautionary principle a few times already on this thread, and you don't even need to know a single thing about climate science to appreciate just how much common sense it makes in this matter.

Don't see why not. I know what would happen if I was to lose my temper and leave one of my workmates with serious facial injuries. I would be out the door so fast my feet wouldn't even touch the ground. I imagine 99% of people would expect similar, but then most of us exist outside the bubble of professional football.

I believe he played there a few times for Celtic, but would rather have him back in CM when he is fit again. I believe Cork can play CB as well so with Wanyama back in midfield that will give us another option

Must be serious if he has been suspended. Most of the time players will get a fine for being naughty but to make him unavailable selection when we could really do with him in the side seems quite drastic. The only surprise is that it has taken this long. It was well known he had history for this sort of thing before he signed, and was the reason why he was so unpopular with the Roma fans. It was a big gamble signing him, and so far it has not paid off. Just when we needed him as well, because Lambert looks burnt out at the moment and the only other option we have is an unproven teenager.

I'm assuming when Huffton said "had agreed a fee" that this was prior to the departure of Cortese and KL's statement.

As for the injuries though - The Gaston one looks nasty, but (and I mean this with the utmost personal respect to him) he isn't actually one of our key players so won't actually be a huge miss. Lovren, on the other hand, is instrumental in our defence and if he is out for a while (which it looks like he will be) then we are seriously f*cked.

But in all fairness he did win the ball before this, so the ref actually made the right call.

You already answered your question in your first line. Curious (and stupid) people will naturally want to open the attachment to try and find out what is in the parcel that is supposedly waiting for them at the depot. It's no different from the numerous spams I get on my work email with things like "Click this link to see if you are eligible for a tax refund", or "New voicemail waiting". It's just a clever way to get viruses past your AV by zipping it up and trying to convince you to open the zip file.

Well yes, but Clyne tracking back to close down the winger then played him onside, which meant that playing the offside trap wasn't an option. I would have expected both our CBs, or at least one of them, to be aware of this and snuff out the danger. Anyway, it's academic. He didn't score and we won. Blue line and all that.

I'm with you mate. I was already raising my hands to bury my head in them before the ball even got played in to Long. He lost both Lovren and Fonte far too easily and ran into the box completely unmarked. All he had to do was guide it one side of Boruc or the other. While I'm not denying the quality of the save, he was helped by the fact that Long made a complete mess of the easiest scoring opportunity he will ever get in a PL game. Heart-in-mouth moment for every Saints fan watching I reckon.

I can see why some thought his booking of Lovren was slightly harsh, and I also think he was very lenient with Olsson when he cynically hacked down Lallana with a late, high challenge to prevent him from breaking clean away towards goal, because on another day a different referee might well have sent him off for it. Other than that he was alright. He didn't really have any big calls to make as there were no penalty appeals of any kind.
