By pure coincidence, I was trying to get home from Manchester over the Snake Pass on thursday and got stuck in all the traffic caused by everybody stopping to watch the flypast over the Derwent / Ladybower reservoir (where all of 617 squadron's training runs took place). Sadly, I didn't get to see it and only heard the noise of the two Tornadoes (today's 617 squadron) that accompanied it.

Yeah funny that, seeing as I live in Sheffield. Even if I did still live in Southampton, I doubt I would be checking the listings for the Guildhall. I've been to a few gigs there over the years and it's a terrible venue for live music - the acoustics are just awful.

Really? Well I saw him debating the reforms of the Sure Start program with Andy Burnham when I visited the HoC a couple of years ago, and I have yet to see any evidence to convince me he is anything other than a pompous, arrogant ar$e. It really does beggar belief how somebody who has never actually worked in the front line of education can be so utterly convinced that his ideas are right. If anybody is in any doubt as to how lowly he is regarded by the teaching profession then have a read of this response to his claims of dumbing down that he made last week... http://www.activehistory.co.uk/gove.php I have never been strongly political and have never had any particular affinity to any party. But if there was a general election tomorrow, I would happily vote Labour if it meant getting this deluded fool out of his office before he causes permanent damage and drives away an entire generation of good teachers from the profession.

Castle Morton - 1992. The massive free party that went on for a week and persuaded the Tory government of the time to introduce the Criminal Justice Bill. I didn't go because I a) didn't know about it and b) would have had no way of getting there anyway.

Sunderland 1-1 SAINTS // Post-Match Reaction
Sheaf Saint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I don't know why I indulge you, really I don't. We've just come back from a goal down at a side who are desperate for points to get a well-deserved draw, and you consider that gutless? You really are a special one Alps! -

It's like when we got promoted out of L1 - it wasn't mathematically guaranteed because of the necessary goal-swing, but we all knew we had done it. As for today's game, it was as frustrating as it has been for the last few weeks. Once again Lambert has a poor game and once again we look toothless up front. All the pretty possession football in the world counts for nowt if you can't stick the ball in the net. While we clearly have the nucleus of a good side, major changes are needed in the summer if we are to progress. -
Was that his first touch?
-
Absolutely inevitable.
-
Lambert has been poor for the last 3 or 4 games to be honest. I'm sad to say it but I think we need to look to replace him as our main attacking threat in the summer, because it's clear we can no longer base our entire game-plan around him.

Ooooh. close from J Rod
