  1. Thus proving that you simply don't get it, still. The fact that nobody had heard of her a fortnight ago is totally irrelevant. I thought, just maybe, that you might be capable of showing enough maturity to recognise that your choice of wording was highly insensitive - for reasons that should be so fucking obvious they don't need to be spelled out. Obviously I was wrong.
  2. Yep, another deflection. So predictable. The fact that you need to ask speaks volumes. But I suspect you don't really need to ask, because you're obviously intelligent enough to work it out for yourself, and you're just being obtuse, as usual.
  3. Simply forgetting her name doesn't excuse the use of such a derogatory term. Instead of your usual deflection tactic Turks, why not just show a bit of humility and acknowledge that.
  4. Random person in posting stupid shit on the internet shocker.
  5. They deserve it for all that time wasting.
  6. Please please please can we sack off Sweet Caroline now!
  7. Expect nothing less from ITV.
  8. Oh that's so close from Agyemang. Pen to England!
  9. She's always impressed me every time she comes on. I've no idea why she isn't a regular starter.
  10. A tale of two posts...
  11. Agyemang!
  12. Italian women been taking lessons from the men's team in the dark arts, it seems. Going over at every slight bit of contact and the ref is falling for it every single time.
  13. England started well but didn't maintain the intensity and Italy grew into it. Unfortunate deflection off Bronze for the Italy goal. They have created very little other than that. Thought James should have done better with her chance to equalise.
  14. All very familiar...
  15. The fact that basic competence appears to be an unreasonable expectation from any kind of customer service organisation these days.
  16. There's a certain chap from the Channel Islands who would strongly disagree with that statement. This is one of the things that I actually like most about women's football. The PL is now such that pace and power trumps everything, as we found out in a big way last season. Being technically good on the ball just isn't enough anymore, and players in the mould of MLT (and even David Beckham) would never make it in this day and age because they just wouldn't get the time on the ball they need to play their natural game. And that's a shame IMO, because it detracts from 'the beautiful game'. In women's football though, that's not such an issue because they simply can't replicate that pace and power. So there's more time and space for technically gifted players to shine. The standard of technical ability in the women's game has improved massively over the last 5-10 years, and with so many more girls coming through at grass roots level now and much greater investment in youth level coaching, it's only going to get better (as you yourself acknowledge above). So yeah, let's enjoy it for what it is and stop comparing.
  17. Having never watched one before, I couldn't say for certain. But despite the number of poor ones, there were some good ones as well. Kelly and Bronze for England both took theirs really well, and the Sweden one that was right in the top corner and hit the camera would have beaten most male keepers.
  18. Superb performance from England so far this evening. They're a joy to watch when playing like this. I know Wales are a poor side but some of England's attacking play has been outstanding, and it could/should be more than 4-0.
  19. That's just the expected etiquette though, same as a snooker player fluking a pot. To not do it is seen as disrespectful to your opponent.
  20. The utterly inane and pointless things that get the slow motion replay treatment in the Wimbledon coverage.
  21. I was doing some temp work for Southern Water in the mid 90s and I read Roger Waters' water meter. He wasn't in though.
  22. That was my first 12". Well, it was either that or I Think We're Alone Now by Tiffany. But let's go with A-HA shall we, because it's infinitely less embarrassing. (Cue @trousers taking the time to look up their respective release dates and showing me up!)
