Boruc's kicking is a bit (more than usual) wayward today.
-
Not convinced that was really worthy of a yellow for Davis. They both slid in for it and the Norwich player got to it fractionally before Davis did, and his reaction made it look a lot worse than it was. We seem to have picked up a hell of a lot of harsh bookings this season.

We're totally dominating the possession, as per usual, and it's great that we have got the early goal which will hopefully draw Norwich out a bit and create more space for our attackers, but I will never be comfortable while we only have a one goal lead. Right now I'm thinking we will either go on to win this comfortably or we won't win at all.

Amazingly quiet on here today. If we were losing we would be on to 3 pages by now.

Hmmmm... Slinky ladies in skimpy outfits, or middle-aged blokes in stupid trousers. Sorry, no.

Please don't get Dubai Phil started on golf already!

Yes, Bosnich is who I was thinking of, but I had completely forgotten about Mutu as well, so you are both right.

I guess so, but I expect the West Brom board's decision was made easier by the fact that they signed him on a free in the knowledge he was nearing the end of his career anyway. If he was 5-10 years younger and they had forked out a large transfer fee for him, they probably would have tried to find an alternative solution that would bring them some kind of return on their investment, as with our situation with Osvaldo. There can't be many other PL players who have had their contracts terminated like this rather than just transferred or left to rot in the reserves. The Aussie keeper (whose name completely escapes me) that was bounced from Chelsea after being stung for cocaine use is the only other example I can think of off hand.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26587077 Unusual step in the modern money-driven world of PL football. Kudos to the WBA board for doing what they believe was right rather than sweeping it under the carpet.

Ha! This just popped up as a related article on Facebook when I clicked on the link above... http://www.parentdish.co.uk/2014/02/05/michael-gove-pincushion-on-sale-for-25-pounds/ Michael Gove pincushion on sale for £25 Yours for £25 - a Voodoo pincushion of the Education Secretary

http://www.theguardian.com/education/2014/mar/14/teachers-life-inside-the-exam-factory?CMP=fb_gu A very lengthy article but it presents a fascinating, and deeply troubling, insight into the way teachers view their profession under Gove's stewardship. I became a daddy for the first time only 3 weeks ago, and it really disturbs me to think about what kind of state our education system will be in by the time my daughter goes to school. Will there actually be any decent teachers left in the profession? At this rate, I seriously doubt it.

Which lefties would that be then? You may find this very difficult to see through your blue-tinted spectacles, but there were plenty of 'lefties' who did not dance and sing and rejoice when she died. But if it suits you to carry on tarring them all with the same brush then don't let me stop you. RIP Tony. A man of great conviction who will be missed. Not enough politicians like him on either side in this day and age.

No, I wouldn't. When I was offered the opportunity to move to Sheffield in 2004 I jumped at the chance because I had become so bored of the total lack of any decent culture or nightlife in Southampton. My other half and me have discussed to possibility of moving to Devon or Cornwall at some point but I can't imagine ever moving back to Hampshire.

But surely they would still have been able to send out some kind of distress signal if that was the case. The fact that they just went off radar with no contact with ATC is what makes it so odd.

Apparently it has transpired that two of the passengers were travelling on stolen passports

And to think some people on here were claiming that the season is over and the players can't be 4rsed! -

So two people think that the 89th minute substitute James Ward-Prowse was MOTM? Hilarious -

Very scrappy game that was always likely to be settled by a scrappy goal. Just glad it went our way, because we didn't really create anything else except for Lambert's chance when he hit the post. Had to work hard for it, as you would expect against a team fighting for survival, but Palace didn't really pose a serious threat and never troubled Boruc. Very difficult to pick out a MOTM, but my vote goes to Schneiderlin. A solid, hard-working midfield performance that was just what we needed today. -
Or maybe he does
