  1. Great defensive work from Morgan there
  2. That's surprising. Cork has been one of our best players so far today.
  3. I understand Lambert is obviously desperate to get a goal against Liverpool, but he needs to be a bit less greedy. OK we got a corner out of that long range one just now, but he had better options, just like he did when he hit that fee kick earlier.
  4. Went to see Sightseers last night... utterly bizarre black comedy from Ben Wheatley and Edgar Wright about a couple from the midlands who go on a caravan holiday together and end up going on a killing spree. Dark, twisted and completely unpredictable; it fuses the gritty realism of a Shane Meadows film with the off-the-wall humour of comedies such as Julia Davis' Nighty Night, and does it to absolute perfection. Well recommended.
  5. Then the entire system is catastrophically flawed. Hardly surprising, considering the entire world economy is based on the principle of using flashy marketing to convince people to spend money they don't have on sh1t they don't need. The reason that the recovery is spluttering all over the world is that a huge number of people, since the economic crash of 2008, have wised up to this fact and adapted their lifestyles to a more need-based approach.
  6. Yeah it's disappointing not to win at home, given how good our home record was last season. But overall I thought both teams defended very well and cancelled each other out. So considering how our form was prior to this little run, two wins and two draws from our last four games is encouraging. It's true that Norwich can count themselves lucky to have got an equaliser, but there was a massive slice of luck about our opening goal as well. So it's no good blaming Gazza for not winning - the attackers have to take responsibility and score more goals as well. One fairly fortunate goal will not be enough for us at this level. Don't know if it was the cold weather or just fatigue from putting in so much effort in our last couple of games, but the whole team seemed to lack a bit of sharpness tonight. A better team might have punished that, so I'm actually quite happy with a draw.
  7. Maybe so. But the defence appears to be a lot less panicky since he has been in the team, and the fact that we are not leaking goals left, right and centre any more clearly proves that. I would rather have a keeper that makes the occasional mistake than one that makes our entire back line look like a bunch of startled rabbits.
  8. Again, perhaps you should re-watch the highlights of the West Ham game. The error he made for their fist goal was unforgivable. What if he starts doing that every game... will you then be calling for Gazza to start again?
  9. No, not really. It was the kind of thing that can, and does, happen to the best keepers from time to time. I agree he isn't brilliant, but I think he's the best option we have at the moment so I would stick with him. That save he made against Newcastle on sunday was top drawer and a lot of keepers wouldn't have got to it. So he may cost us a goal here and there, but he will save us some points as well. Just out of interest, if Davis or Boruc is given a run in the next few games, will you be just as savage in your criticism of them when they inevitably make a mistake?
  10. Sorry sir!
  11. Where in the hell do you get that idea from? I notice that you automatically assumed my original post was aimed at you though. Interesting, that.
  12. No, you log out!
  13. No whining here. I'm just trying to enjoy a game of football that we might yet win. Maybe you should try it sometime.
  14. What's up with me? Nothing, that's the point. We have played really well recently, and as soon as we have a 10-minute spell where the other team has a bit of possession in our half, the doom and gloom merchants come crawling out of the woodwork again, and it's really tedious.
  15. Honestly I can't believe how moronic this place can be at times. The oppos has a 10-minute spell of possession and the usual suspects start wetting the bed already. Sheeesh.
  16. Yet another timely interception from Shaw.
  17. So you wouldn't class just standing on your goal line and watching a weakly lofted free kick sail straight past you into the goal as a howler then?
  18. Another excellent block from Shaw. Makes you wonder how Fox ever made it to the first team this season.
  19. Wow. How did that go in? Not complaining though
  20. This is very true, however the signing of a 5-year contract is a significant statement IMO. If JWP was of the mindset that he wanted to jump ship as soon as a massive payday came knocking then he (or his agent, at least) would be very aware that being tied down to a 5-year contract is going to make it much harder for the interested club to do the deal, and because of the inflated transfer fee that we would demand, he would have to take a hit on the potential wages on offer as well. So although in signing he is not making a concrete commitment to stay another 5 years, he is definitely reducing the chances of leaving - unless we get relegated, or he turns out to be amazing and a ridiculous offer comes in from Barc/Real/ManU etc...
  21. Well yeah, in as much as there is no acting involved and it's all centred around using hidden cameras and unsuspecting members of the public.
  22. Really? I watched a little bit of this last week and I personally thought that cheap, crap reality TV programming had reached a new low. Each to their own I guess.
  23. I guess it all depends on how much he is given to spend in January. Has he started spouting off in the media about how rubbish the current lot of players are yet?
