Torrential rain forecast across the north of England today, with a yellow warning of possible flooding (although Hull is just outside the warning area according to the Met office). I reckon there's a strong chance this could be postponed.

Brendan Carr, the chair of the US Federal Communications Commission, who was appointed by Trump and is evidently a fervent defender of free speech when it is right wing voices being censored, threatened to revoke ABC's licence if they didn't take immediate action over Kimmel's comments. If you don't believe this was a decision forced by the Trump administration then you are utterly deluded.

How do we know that was actually his strategy though? I've seen nothing whatsoever to suggest that's how his teams play, and I think it was more a case of Pompey being well organised and closing down well to stop us playing between the lines in the first half, so a few players resorted to trying long balls instead. Clearly there was words had and a tweak of something at HT, and we had much more joy passing through them in the second half. I think people need to put aside the fact that this was a derby game and look a bit more objectively. Today was the first time Still had all his new signings available and was able to play his preferred formation. I thought the second half was much better than we've seen with the back 3 so far, and there were encouraging signs from some of the new recruits (notably Fellows and Jander). Up until now, Still has been forced to work with only what was available to him. The time to judge him will be once the new players have bedded in and we've got a settled starting lineup.

Not if we're talking about the fans though.

This, but I have to give credit to Pompey (urgh, that didn't feel good to type) because they have been organised and have closed off the forward passing lanes well, which leaves us either the safe pass around the back or the long ball forward as options. I'm sure that's not actually how Still wants us to play. I've been impressed with Fellows on the few occasions he's actually been fed the ball down the right though. Need to get him involved more in the second half.

There we go. Give the ball to Fellows and he causes problems for their defence. I can't for the life of me work out why we're not trying to get him involved more.
